The World of Wonders season of Pokemon Go just got started but already gave players a lot to do through events and debuts. The new Team Go Rocket Takeover is catching fire, as trainers try their best to defeat Team Rocket Boss Giovanni and its new lineup.
Grunts and Leaders have also renewed their Pokemon, so prepare your teams, and be ready for a the Pokemon Go Taken Over event, with info on its schedule, Shadow Mewtwo Raids, Egg pool, and more.
Pokemon Go World of Wonders: Taken Over dates
The World of Wonders: Taken Over event in Pokemon Go will run from Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at 12 AM to Sunday, March 31, 2024, at 11:59 PM (local time).
Pokemon Go World of Wonders: Taken Over debuts
The Pokemon Go World of Wonders: Taken Over event features the debut of Shadow Groudon in the mobile game. Trainers will be able to complete a new Special Research to get the Super Rocket Radar to track down Giovanni and claim the Shadow Legendary after defeating him.
The Special Research will be available to claim until the end of the season on June 1, 2024, at 9:59 AM (local time).
Additionally, shiny Sandile will also debut during the event. Keep reading to know how to get this elusive species.

Pokemon Go World of Wonders: Taken Over Field & Timed Research
Pokemon Go players can tackle different Timed and Field Research tasks during the World of Wonders: Taken Over event.
Trainers who spin PokeStops during the event can get themed Field Research tasks to acquire Mysterious Components, Charged TMs, Fast TMs, and encounters with event-themed Pokemon.
On the other hand, Pokemon Go players can buy a ticket for the event-themed Timed Research for US$2.00 (or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency). This Timed Research will reward players with six Mysterious Components, one Super Incubator, one Rocket Radar, and an encounter with Pawniard.
Another free Timed Research will reward players with encounters with event-themed Pokemon. We’ll update this section once we know more about these Research tasks.
Pokemon Go World of Wonders: Taken Over bonuses
The World of Wonders: Taken Over event in Pokemon Go will feature the following bonuses:
- Team Go Rocket will appear more frequently at PokeStops and in balloons.
- You can use a Charged TM to help a Shadow Pokemon forget the Charged Attack Frustration.
