Pokemon Go’s “trash” Adventure Week 2024 skips highly-anticipated spawns

Adventure Week is one of the most eagerly-awaited occasions in Pokemon Go but the 2024 edition is a far cry from how the event is supposed to be, leaving players frustrated.

In all its previous editions, the event featured its main draw – Fossil Pokemon, prominently in the wild. So, the community waited with bated breath to catch a perfect IV or shiny version of these species.

However, those wild spawns are unavailable in this year’s extravaganza, and trainers like Reddit user ‘Physical_Stuff6787’ shared their anger.

The OP was eager to catch Tyrunt, the popular Rock/Dragon-type Pokemon inspired by a T-Rex and a mainstay in Adventure Week events. With none of these usual suspects as wild spawns, a player said: “The event is basically a research day/hatch day disguised as an adventure week with abysmal shiny rate.”

More joined the bandwagon and called out the species up for grabs in the wild, stating they were the “same lame a** Pokemon” seen every normal day, while others labeled them “trash.”

Fossil species are those deemed extinct in the game’s lore but brought back to life. Most are viable Rock-type attackers in Raids and the Go Battle League, making them highly sought-after grabs among fans.

But, this lack of Fossil spawns doesn’t seem to be the only problem. One of the highlights of Adventure Week 2024 was the increased shiny odds of popular finds like Tyrunt, Amaura, Cranidos, and Tirtouga.

That said, these are all limited to Eggs and Field Research tasks, and those who grinded for them called the shiny chances a “hoax,” as many recounted getting hundreds of them to no avail.

The Adventure Week 2024 event runs until August 12 in Pokemon Go. While you can’t find some of your favorite Fossil species in the wild, you can take on the exciting Collection Challenges and Timed Research.
