Pokemon Go’s Ultra Unlock Bonus 2024 is perfect time to bring Galar event
NianticThe upcoming Ultra Unlock Bonus after Pokemon Go Fest 2024 may very well feature the highly anticipated event focusing on fan favorites from the Galar region.
Go Fest 2024 is just around the corner in Pokemon Go and once it’s all done and dusted, the Ultra Unlock Bonus is the next big thing. While its details will only be revealed after Go Fest wraps up, fans seem to have a good idea of what’s cooking this year: the eagerly awaited Galar region!
This is based on the fact that devs Niantic usually set events based on happenings in the Pokemon world, be it the anime, TCG, or mainline games. With Pokemon Legends ZA arriving in 2025, and Scarlet and Violet already making its presence in the mobile game, Gen 8 seems to be the only route.
Reddit user ‘ArtimusDragon’ explained that with Paldea in the books and plenty of Pokemon from the region in the game, it looks like the perfect time to ring in Galar, especially with no new mainline games or DLCs set for the rest of 2024.
While Gen 9 species like the starters, the Pseudo Legendary Baxcalibur, and other popular picks are already available, Gen 8 previously only introduced Zacian and Zamazenta, Falinks, and some regional forms.
On this, a player wrote, “I 100% see them backpeddling on Paldea at this point so that they can focus on Galar all the way up until possibly Unova tour and then pivot from Galar again with something related to Legends Z-A.”
Fans have been demanding the Galarian starters and others for a long time now, prompting a trainer to add: “Bare-minimum they make a big deal out of releasing Gen 8 starters, Rookidee and Blipbug as the ultra unlock.” Others even called for the shiny debuts of Zacian and Zamazenta.
Ultra Unlock Bonuses are split into different parts, so players also hoped for more species like Dreepy, Nickit, and Yamper in Part 2 of the extravaganza. With leaks revealing Gigantamax forms, fans are hopeful.
It remains to be seen if the upcoming Ultra Unlock Bonus brings Galar aboard Pokemon Go, but before that, you can catch debuting Ultra Beasts like Naganadel, Blacephalon, and Stakataka.
