In 2022, Nintendo released one of the biggest changes throughout the Pokemon franchise that took the fandom by surprise. Pokemon Legends Arceus was a mix in the long-term formula that introduced an almost complete open-world system into the Pokemon games.
The Hisui region received many positive reviews. Aside from reviewers pointing out a weak graphical performance, the new battle and monster-catching systems were considered a fresh take. Now, a sequel has been announced, and rumors about it being in the Johto region are gone.

Pokemon Legends sequel: Z-A details
During the Pokemon Presents 2024 live event, The Pokemon Company announced a 2025 sequel to the Pokemon Legends series called Z-A. Set in Lumiose City, we have few details confirmed so far, but check out all about it in our latest coverage.
Pokemon Legends Celebi rumors
As of February 2024, there is no news about a potential Pokemon Legends Celebi, and nothing suggests that is in the works. All the rumors flying around are based on fan theories or pure speculation, and the announcement of Pokemon Legends Z-A takes fans to new horizons.
Game Freak and Nintendo worked secretly on Legends Arceus, so there’s a chance that all information regarding the Celebi game is still under wraps. For now, trainers have to assume that the game doesn’t exist and has no release date.
Active Pokemon’s titles are Scarlet and Violet, Pokemon Go, Sleep, Unite, Cafe ReMix, and the next Legends Z-A.

The trailer available on YouTube is just a fan-made Pokemon Legends Celebi trailer and is not official.
Created by talented animator YassiR, the trailer serves as a concept of what a potential Legends Arceus sequel might look like. Using the same art style as the first Legends game, the fan-made spin-off trailer showcases various locations of the Johto region.
As well as Legends Arceus, the third evolution step for each of the starters includes a regional variant that uses fan-favorite Pokemon like Torterra, Blaziken, and Greninja. To add to the hype, several Eeveelutions appear on their regional variants as well.
