Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC: How to beat Elite Four Crispin challenge
The Pokemon CompanyIf Crispin was your first choice in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk BB Elite Four challenge, here’s all you need to know on how to beat him and advance the story.
The Indigo Disk is the second Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, and the new Terrarium area has a lot of challenges to beat. The second DLC main story starts with beating the BB Elite Four, an imitation of the traditional Pokemon League found in the main game.
With four members and a champion, trainers must complete various challenges before taking their Pokemon out to battle the members. Each challenge is carefully crafted based on each member’s occupation, personality, and Pokemon type specialty.
Here’s how to beat the BB Elite Four Crispin challenge in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, as well as combat strategies for the powerful Fire-type team.
How to beat Elite Four Crispin challenge in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC
To beat Crispin’s challenge in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, players must prepare a super-spicy sandwich using specific ingredients. These can be obtained in the designated challenge area, and you will need to battle trainers and trade to get them.
Crispin will ask players to prepare a super-spicy sandwich, meaning that the ingredients used must be spicy ones like Jalapeños and Chili Sauce. Trainers scattered around the challenge area will battle you for them, and for some other items that can be traded for spicy ones.
Here’s the order you should tackle the trainers to prepare the required spicy sandwich:
- Defeat trainer Julienne for a Potato Salad.
- Speak to the blonde trainer to trade the Potato Salad for Onion, Cucumber, and Prosciutto.
- Get the Chili Sauce from the girl standing next to the cactus by trading the Cucumber with her.
- Defeat trainer Carmela to get Mayonnaise.
- Talk to the other trainer standing next to the cactus, and select the “Mayonnaise” option.
- Trade the Mayonnaise for an Egg, Olive Oil, and Vinegar.
- One of the trainers standing in the group of three will trade the Egg for a Chorizo.
- Another trainer in this group will trade your Vinegar for Mustard.
- Trade Prosciutto and Olive Oil for a Jalapeño with the last member of the trainer trio.
- You can also battle the trainer behind the large rock to get another Jalapeño.
Once you have every item, talk to Crispin and start preparing the Sandwich. Do not drop any ingredients as you might miss the challenge and have to start the cooking part all over again. Put the Chili Sauce and the Mustard together, and finish with the Chorizo and the Jalapeño.
If players add two sets of Jalapeños instead of one, they will unlock a special cutscene with Crispin in the making of the super-spicy Sandwich. Move on with the challenge, and you will face Crispin in battle, so get your team healed up and ready.
How to defeat Crispin in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC
To defeat the Fire-type user Crispin in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, you will need to take advantage of his Pokemon Fire-type weaknesses. Remember that all battles in The Indigo Disk DLC are double battles, so prepare Pokemon in pairs accordingly.
Crispin will use the following Pokemon:
- Talonflame lvl 77
- Rotom Heat lvl 77
- Camerupt lvl 78
- Exeggutor lvl 78
- Magmortar lvl 78
- Blaziken lvl 79 – Fire Tera Type
The best strategy to win Crespin’s battle is Water-type or Ground-type Pokemon. Azumarrill with the Huge Power Ability and Liquidation is a killer strategy in this fight, but other Water or Ground-type on the same level will work as well.
For Exeggutor, the best Pokemon to use is Baxcallibur. Its Ice-type makes it weak to Fire attacks, but the Grass-type is weak to it, and it will be bundled with Heat Rotom spamming the Will-o-Wisp attack. This makes a Baxcallibur with decent Sp-Def and the Thermal Exchange Ability a great way to deal with Exeggutor and Rotom.
When you defeat Crispin, he will grant you the Temper Flare TM. This Fire-type move hits double if the previous move failed or the enemy Pokemon was unable to attack for some other reason such as paralysis.
