The Pokemon CompanyThe Indigo Disk DLC adds more Paradox Pokemon to Scarlet and Violet. If you are wondering how to catch Iron Boulder, Terrakion’s “future” form in Area Zero here’s all you need to know.
Paradox Pokemon are some of the new rare creatures added to the Pokemon franchise, along with Ultra Beasts from Sun and Moon. Their origin is mostly unknown, and the past and future versions of these creatures not only resemble some fan favorites but also Legendary Pokemon.
Pokemon Violet players have a few Paradox forms from Unova’s Sword of Justice quartet, exclusive to this version of the game’s DLC. Cobalion as Iron Crown and Terrakion as Iron Boulder can be found in The Indigo Disk DLC by going the extra mile with the Blueberry Pokedex.
If you are wondering how to catch and find Iron Boulder in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, here’s all you need to know.
How to catch Iron Boulder in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC
To catch Iron Boulder in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC, you must complete Perrin’s side quest, by showing her 200 new entries in your Blueberry Pokedex.
When you complete this time-consuming feat, go back to Perrin near the entrance of the Terarium to show her the entries. Once this is done, she will show you two pictures of Area Zero back in Paldea that showcase the location of Iron Crown and Iron Boulder.
Pokemon Violet players will receive pictures of the DLC Future Paradox Forms, while Scarlet players will see Gouging Fire and Raging Bolt, Entei’s and Raikou’s past Paradox versions.
When heading to Area Zero, be sure to warp to Research Station 2, then walk outside and head towards the left side of the ledge in front of this building. Before jumping off, check the bottom, and you will see that you can fall straight down into a small area with an opening between a boulder and a rock slab.
Iron Boulder will be waiting there, and finding it is a little bit trickier than Iron Crown. The level 75 Future Paradox version of Terrakion is hard to catch, and also a static encounter, meaning you can only catch one per game, it can’t be shiny, and it won’t spawn again like Iron Valiant or Scream Tail.
