The grand Pokemon World Championships 2023 came to a close with some spectacular announcements that took the Pokemon community by storm. After some explosive news on Pokemon TCG, the franchise revealed a new trailer for Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s second DLC, The Indigo Disk, which revolves around the mysterious Terapagos.
The trailer left fans in awe as it revealed a new Tera type, new moves, and some additional details on the latest Paradox Pokemon: Raging Bolt and Iron Crown.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC trailer teases new Tera Type
As shared by the official Twitter handle of Pokemon, the trailer highlights several exciting reveals about the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC 2: The Indigo Disk, which is all set to release in Winter 2023.
But none of these details have been as exciting as the tease of a brand-new Tera type. As most Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players are aware, the game has 18 Tera types, each associated with the existing 18 Pokemon types.
This new reveal is being called the 19th Tera type and the Scarlet and Violet website teased, “Something about it seems different from the eighteen Tera Types we’ve seen before…”
While very little is known about the 19th Tera type, players should know that it isn’t a new Pokemon type but just a new in-game mechanic that combines all 18 Tera types. Moreover, the icon for the new Tera type features a hexagonal design with a rainbow-colored background. Keen-eyed fans have noticed that the icon bears a striking resemblance to Terapagos’s shell.
But the excitement for the new Tera type was complemented by the reveal that every single starter Pokemon from the past Pokemon Generations will be available to catch in The Indigo Disk DLC’s Blueberry Academy’s Terrarium.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC trailer unveils new moves, types for Raging Bolt & Iron Crown
The Pokemon Scarlet & Violet DLC trailer confirmed that the new Paradox Pokemon Raging Bolt is Electric/Dragon-type and Iron Crown is Steel/Psychic-type.
While these two mysterious species were revealed in Pokemon Presents earlier this month, fans had no idea what their types would be. Now, with the confirmation of their types, they are speculating Paradox Entei to be Fire/Dragon-type and Paradox Terrakion to be Rock/Psychic-type.
Finally, the trailer also revealed some new moves:
- Thunderclap: It is an Electric-type Special move that gets priority and is similar to Sucker Punch. It is the signature move of Raging Bolt.
- Tachyon Cutter: It is a Steel-type Physical move that is guaranteed to hit twice in a row. It is the signature move of Iron Crown.
- Upper Hand: It is a Fighting-type Physical move that has increased priority when the opponent is using a priority move and will fail if not.
- Psychic Noise: It is a special Psychic-type move that deals damage and prevents opponents from recovering HP for a certain number of turns.
