Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Epilogue features secret Ogerpon & Pecharunt Easter egg
The Pokemon CompanyThe Kitakami Epilogue final boss battle with the Mythical Pecharunt has a special moment with Ogerpon that fans are loving and asking others not to miss.
With the Kitakami Epilogue up and running Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, players finally have the opportunity to capture the Mythical Pecharunt, the Pokemon responsible for corrupting the Loyal Three and causing all the chaos with Ogerpon in Kitakami’s lore.
To catch Pecharunt, trainers will have to beat it in a final boss battle, and the bout is a tough one to conquer as the said Mythical has an excellent Defense stat of 160.
While players build the best teams to beat Pecharunt, one familiar face gets a unique reaction when brought out to the battle, the one-and-only Ogerpon!
A Reddit user named ‘Clockwork765’ shared a pot titled “PSA: Bring Ogerpon to the Epilogue Final Boss,” and further added:
“If you send out Ogerpon against Pecharunt, then you’re greeted by a Warrior cry from Ogerpon as she prepares to kick serious buttock. It’s Highly recommended.”
The post prompted several Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players to chime in with their views on the epic interaction between Ogerpon and Pecharunt.
A user wrote: “Even though I knew the boss had pretty high Physical Defense, brought Ogerpon anyways since the little round jerk was clearly related to the Loyal Three in some way. Was pleasantly surprised to see Ogerpon having some (in my head) angry words to say to our poisonous peach here.”
Adding more context to Pecharunt’s antics, a trainer pointed out: “Pecharunt’s Malignant Chain attack uses the same chains that’s stuck on the Loyal Three.”
On the Loyal Three, who were presumably corrupted and controlled by Pecharunt before they went on to attack Ogerpon and her friend in the lore, a fan mentioned how the Mythical reacts to any of the three Pokemon. “With any of the Loyal Three… Pecharunt grunts in anger,” the person wrote.
Others joked: “Ogerpon about to go strength build on this little sh*t” and “Her reaction was hilarious.”
The Ogerpon cutscene is a great nod to the battle with BB champion Kieran in the Indigo Disk DLC, where he has a strong reaction to the Teal Mask DLC Legendary he so desperately wanted.
Such cutscenes are undoubtedly a great addition to the game as they add more layers to the storyline. For more such gameplay relating to lore, check out how to open the secret cave in Area Zero, as well as details on the Stellar type in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
