Pokemon Scarlet & Violet fans demand buff to beloved Gen 2 starter in Indigo Disk DLC
The Pokemon CompanyWith starter Pokemon from all Generations confirmed for Indigo Disk, fans are eager to see a popular but “not very useful” Pokemon get buffed in the next Scarlet and Violet DLC.
The Teal Mask DLC of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has become a huge hit among the Pokemon community due to the gripping storyline, powerful Legendaries, and the return of many popular species from previous Generations.
Now, fans are eagerly looking forward to the Indigo Disk DLC as it promises more new Pokemon, a 19th Tera Type, and also the return of all starters to the game.
Among the additions is the fan-favorite Gen 2 Grass-type starter, Meganium, who many feel is unviable competitively, while its fellow starters Typhlosion and Feraligatr recently got new moves to their kit.
With Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Indigo Disk DLC on the horizon, players hope that Meganium will finally get some much-needed buffs 20+ years after its debut.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players want Meganium to finally be viable in Indigo Disk DLC
In a Reddit post, user ‘platpx3’ wrote that “since the Starters are coming back in Indigo Disk,” Pokemon Scarlet and Violet should give Meganium “some justice” by buffing it in the next DLC.
A user wrote: “I always felt sorry for Meganium. So painfully cute, yet not very useful” while another added: “Meganium really doesn’t get any love.”
One player mentioned how Meganium could do really well in Pokemon Video Game Championships (VGC) with support moves like “Heal Pulse, Screens, Bulldoze for Weakness Policy, etc.”
A fellow player agreed by writing: “Honestly, I really want Meganium to be able to stand up for itself, but if they’re really going to commit the Dino to the support role then I’m all up for it.”
The Ability Chlorophyll could also be a great addition to Meganium as one user put it, “I just said Chlorophyll because it’s better than what it has now and still fits the plant theme.”
Fans feel that the chances of Meganium getting better in Indigo Disk are high as the Teal Mask buffed two starters in the game: “They gave Torterra Shell Smash and changed Empoleon’s Hidden Ability to Competitive.”
Another added, “Thick Fat is my favorite for a new Hidden Ability – makes it useable in a play through, the other ideas are more competitive-minded which is also fine.”
With Indigo Disk shaping up to be an interesting addition, it is very likely that Meganium could receive some love from the Pokemon franchise in the DLC.
