Pokemon Scarlet & Violet player dominates Hisuian Typhlosion Raid with Paldean Tauros OHKO strategy
Game FreakHisuian Typhlosion 7-Star Tera Raid Battle is live, and players are challenging this incredibly strong Pokemon to get a chance to capture a Perfect IV specimen with the Mightiest Mark. But a group of players managed to one-hit KO this incredibly difficult raid boss, and here’s how they did it.
In Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, the adventure doesn’t stop when you finish the main storyline, and trainers have a lot of activities and places to explore, including the Kitakami Island map added with the Teal Mask DLC.
But for trainers that want a real challenge, The Pokemon Company and Game Freak have been releasing a series of Tera Raid Battle events that allow players to face Unrivaled Pokemon in 7-Star Raid battles.
These Raids require a lot of planning and strategy and can be considered the end-game content of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Not many trainers would be able to beat them without the proper skills and preparation. But some trainers are accomplishing impressive feats like the one explained below.
User ‘Nommable123’ and their team, also responsible for another impressive One-hit KO made during the past Tera Raid battle, managed to accomplish another feat of similar scale, and shared it on Reddit.
Players commenting on this incredible one-hit takedown on the challenging 8243 HP pool of the Tera Raid Pokemon were astounded to see the perfect coordination and team effort between ‘Nommable123’ and their group members.
The player also shared its complete Paldean Tauros strategy for players to try for themselves with their trusted party members:
Team setup:
- Weezing-G – Misty Surge; 252 HP / 252 SpD; Calm
- Urshifu – 252 HP / 252 SpD; Calm; Moves: Wicked Blow
- Kyogre/Pelipper – Drizzle; 252 HP / 252 SpD; Calm; Moves: Helping Hand
- Tauros (Aqua) @ Choice Band; Anger Point; 252 Atk; Adamant; Moves: Wave Crash
Strategy:
- Weezing-G’s Misty Surge prevents burn from Will-o-Wisp
- Kyogre/Pelipper activates rain with Drizzle and uses Helping Hand on Tauros
- Urshifu uses Wicked Blow (guaranteed crit) on Tauros to activate Anger Point (sets attack to +6)
- Weezing-G uses Attack Cheer
- Tauros outspeeds and uses Wave Crash to OHKO
The trainers also warned other players about Typhlosion’s ‘Frisk’ ability, which can be quite annoying and could alter the order/timing of the actions, thus ruining the strategy.
According to a veteran player: “The additional text boxes for Frisk would take enough time that Sunny Day would come up before Wave Crash (which, as you can imagine, is a Disaster).”
So, keep those details in mind when trying this strategy for yourselves. In the meantime, if you are looking for a different strategy, here’s a full guide on Hisuian Typhlosion Tera Raid. And here’s a guide with all the details about Tera Raid Battles, in case you need it.
