Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players glad to have been “fooled” by Paradox team
The Pokemon CompanyParadox Pokemon exclusives in the Scarlet version were better received by fans as they have more variety in design and names when compared to their Violet counterparts. So Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players breathed a sigh of relief when a worrying “assumption” about the future Paradox species ended up being wrong, resulting in a “fun experience.”
One of the biggest reasons behind the popularity of the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games is the introduction of Paradox Pokemon in the franchise.
These fierce and mysterious Pokemon look like ancient and future versions of several popular species but are entirely different Pokedex additions altogether, even speculated to be products of the imagination that were brought to reality by Terapagos, the main Legendary in the Indigo Disk DLC.
But the future Paradox species exclusive to Pokemon Violet initially didn’t enjoy the same popularity as not only do they look just like robotic avatars of Pokemon, but all their names start with “Iron,” creating a suspicion that was thankfully disputed later in the game.
Reddit user ‘PretendStreet4660’ posted “I can’t be the only one,” while adding, “that thought all AI Turo’s Pokemon were part Steel (type) cuz of the word ‘Iron’ when they finished Violet.” This refers to the final boss battle with the future Paradox team of Professor Turo’s AI version at the end of Pokemon Violet.
With all species having their names starting with “Iron” and players being unaware of their types, most tried to use moves that would be super-effective against Steel types, only to find out that these Paradox Pokemon had different type combinations.
One user mentioned, “I remember using Flamethrower on Iron Moth thinking it’s a Steel/Bug-type due to its appearance,” as others stated that they were “fooled” by the “Iron” in their names.
Another player added a very interesting bit by commenting, “Iron Treads being both the first Paradox Pokemon the player encounters in Violet, and the only one that’s actually Steel-type doesn’t help with the assumption.”
But it appears that Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fans were ultimately happy that their assumption didn’t turn out right as users wrote: “I thought they would all be Steel-type with a secondary type, and I’m relieved to see they didn’t do that” and ” I enjoy the types they went with.”
It looks like all’s well that ends well as a player put it, “Besides their names, the joy and horror of trying to figure out what these things were playing spoiler-free was a fun experience.”
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have gone on to be a majorly successful game, with the Teal Mask DLC also being a huge hit among the community.
