Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players praise difficult trainer battles in DLC
The Pokemon CompanyTrainer battles in previous Pokemon games have always been a breeze, but the Teal Mask DLC has surprised Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players with legitimately challenging trainer battles from the Ogre Clan members, and fans are impressed.
With the Teal Mask DLC of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet out for more than a week, fans are eagerly exploring Kitakami Island to catch Pokemon, complete the Ogerpon storyline, and experience all that the game has to offer.
But the trainer battles against the Ogre Clan Members have taken even Pokemon battling experts off guard because of their difficulty, as similar battles in previous games have been fairly easy.
Now, players simply can’t get enough of these battles and are hoping that such battles in the Indigo Disk DLC are even more challenging.
Pokemon Scarlet & Violet players applaud tough trainer battles with Ogre Clan Members in Teal Mask DLC
Reddit user ‘bloodpest’ shared a post highlighting that the Ogre Clan Members in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Teal Mask DLC are “The toughest guys in the DLC” while also adding that “They give me hope that the next DLC will be more challenging and more trainers might use items.”
Soon, several users chimed in with their comments and agreed that they were “actually really happy with how challenging the battles were.”
Fans were particularly impressed with the fact that these trainers used Items as well as strategies to ensure a challenging Pokemon battle.
“I liked the one that had Kommo-o carrying a Throat Spray using Clangorous Soul. That one gave me a bit of a scare.”
Another added: “The one with a Tidy Up Maushold nearly wiped my new DLC team, I was terrified.”
Turns out that the strategies used by the Ogre Clan Members were so good they even gave a tough fight to those with maxed-out level 100 Pokemon.
A user wrote: “I was actually really happy with how challenging they were. Even though all my Pokemon were level 100, and they were mostly 75ish IIRC, they still knocked some of my big guys out.”
One player summed up the experience pretty well by commenting: “These dudes were great. Basically, mini-gym leaders that were legitimately tough.”
But, most importantly, players are now hoping that the trainer battles in the Indigo Disk DLC are as hard as the Ogre Clan Members: “These trainers should hopefully be a teaser to what the Indigo Disk battles would be like.”
Another player shared: “I’m so hoping they add something like that in DLC 2. It being a battle-focused school, and strictly post-game, I wanna go up against actually well put-together NPC teams.”
Making the trainer battles difficult in the Teal Mask DLC seems to be welcomed by Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fans and could very well be a sign of things to come in the Indigo Disk DLC.
