Catching the one-and-only Groudon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet DLC can be a nightmare, especially when you are out of Master Balls. But even if you’re running low on them, these amazing Poke Ball tips by some players can help you catch the fan-favorite Legendary quickly.

With the Indigo Disk DLC of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet bringing several Legendaries from previous Gens, fans are sparing no effort to catch all these popular Pokemon in the Paldea region.

Even though new DLC additions like the Item Printer can help you get more Master Balls, they are a limited resource and rare so, most players try to get the available Legendaries even in other Poke Balls. And when you come across iconic Pokemon such as Groudon, it can be a nail-biting experience.

Luckily, some players have shared some excellent Poke Ball tricks to help capture Legendaries like Groudon without relying on a Master Ball after a Reddit user named ‘Kabert’ made a post captioned: “Timer balls?” asking when they should use Timer Balls during an encounter.

The post prompted other Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players to chime in with some cool Poke Ball tips to make such encounters a success.

A user commented: “After 10 turns timer ball is the best ball to use even over dusk ball during nighttime ( I think)- disregarding apriballs and masterballs.” Apriballs refer to the Fast Ball, Friend Ball, Heavy Ball, Lure Ball, Moon Ball, Love Ball, and Level Ball.

A fan also shared a handy tip, particularly for Groudon: “Use a Heavy Ball, if you have one. Groudon weighs around 2,094 pounds, making it one of the heaviest Pokemon.”

Based on the OP’s query, a player gave a detailed response. “Turn 1 your best chance is going to be a Quick Ball. It’s about 5.0x as effective as any other option. If that fails, lower the target’s HP to 1 and apply a non-volatile status (usually Sleep or Paralysis). This is going to give you the best possible chance to catch with anything you want.”

“Ultra Balls are the best choice on Turn 2-4 with a 2.0x. Starting on Turn 5, Timer Balls are your best option to use as they bump up to a 2.2x rate and increase to a max of 4.0x on Turn 11,” they further wrote. “Dusk Balls have a 3.0x if you are in a cave or at night.”

Since Groudon doesn’t have any recoil moves, you can use False Swipe and then follow the tips shared by these fans. For more exciting things to do in the Indigo Disk DLC, check out the Synchro Machine feature and the best Pokemon to synchronize with, in Scarlet and Violet.
