Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Samurott Tera Raid Battle event dates & how to beat
There is a new Tera Raid Battle event in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet for players to get their hands on a debuting Pokemon. Here are the dates and useful tips for Samurott’s Tera Raid Battle event.
While Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players keep waiting for new updates and DLC content, they still have lots to do once they finish the three main paths the games have to offer. 7-Star Tera Raid Battle events continue to arrive and trainers are getting ready for the next big fight.
Debuting Pokemon Samurott will headline the next event so here are the dates and useful tips to tackle this tough challenge.
Samurott Tera Raid Battle dates in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
The first Samurott Tera Raid Battle in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet took place from March 31 to April 2. Players will have a second chance between April 7 at 4 PM PT / 7 PM ET / 12 AM BST and April 9 at 3:59 PM PT / 6:59 PM ET / 11:59 PM BST.
The 7-Star Tera Raid Battle features Samurott with a Bug Tera Type. The Pokemon will have the Mightiest Mark, meaning players can only catch one per save file.
This marks the debut of Samurott in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet the same way it did with Decidueye in March. That means that it might be featured in future events or become obtainable through other methods later on. Trainers looking for an interesting challenge must search for Black Tera Crystals across Paldea.
How to beat Samurott Tera Raid Battle event in Pokemon Scarlet & Violet
As a Pokemon with a Bug Tera Type, Samurott is weak against Fire, Flying, and Rock-type attacks in the Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Tera Raid Battle. It’s resistant to Grass, Fighting, and Ground-type moves, so you should avoid these categories for this 7-Star Raid.
As with previous Tera Raid bosses, Samurott has a powerful Abilitiy to watch out for. The Shell Armor Ability will prevent Samurott from getting struck by a critical hit, so keep that in mind.
Regarding its moveset, Unrivaled Samurott knows Aqua Cutter (Water), Megahorn (Bug), Night Slash (Dark), Bulldoze (Ground), and Drill Run (Ground). Additionally, it will use Swords Dance and Focus Energy to boost its Stats and Critical Hit chances.
While Aqua Cutter and Megahorn deal damage with STAB, Night Slash, Bulldoze, and Drill Run provide coverage. So picking Fire or Ground-type Pokemon for this Tera Raid Battle is not such a good idea.
Considering Samurott’s type and possible moveset, picking the best counters for this Tera Raid Battle is not an easy task. Corviknight, Flamigo, Gyarados, and Paldean Tauros (Fighting/Water form) are great options for dealing super-effective Flying-type damage to Unrivaled Samurott.
On the other hand, you can also pick counters that can take most of Samurott’s attacks with ease while dealing neutral damage. Annihilape is a good example as it has a double resistance (x4) against Bug-type moves. Other options include Azumarill, Walking Wake, and Cloyster.
Now you’re ready to face Samurott in its challenging Tera Raid Battle in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.
