Swampert weaknesses explained in Pokemon
Swampert is only weak to Grass-type attacks in Pokemon, but it is a 4x weakness.
That said, Swampert can bypass this weakness with a Tera Type that resists Grass-type moves, such as Bug, Dragon, Fire, Flying, Grass, Poison, and Steel types.
You should know that Swampert’s Speed stat is pretty low at 60, so you can use hazards like Sticky Web to slow down your opponents. Pokemon like Ribombee and Galvantula are great options for using this move.
Swampert resistances explained in Pokemon
Swampert resists Fire, Poison, Rock, and Steel-type attacks and is immune to Electric-type attacks in Pokemon.
While the resistances are impressive, the immunity to Electric-type moves is an asset, as it can counter powerful threats like Raging Bolt, Miraidon, and Regieleki. It has pretty good bulk with 100 HP and 90 on both Defense and Special Defense. This helps Swampert tank the Dragon-type moves of these monsters and KO them with a super-effective, STAB (Same Type Attack Bonus) Earthquake.
Swampert strengths explained in Pokemon
Swampert does super-effective damage to Fire, Electric, Ground, Poison, Rock, and Steel-type Pokemon with its STAB moves.
With 110 Attack stat, it can hit quite hard, especially under Rain. Swampert’s biggest USP is its access to the powerful Ground-type move Earthquake. Apart from Electric-type Pokemon, it is also reliable in taking out the ever-rampant Steel types.
Best Swampert moves in Pokemon
The best moves for Swampert in Pokemon are Earthquake, Flip Turn, Knock Off, and Roar.
- Earthquake is Swampert’s bread and butter, as this starter takes full advantage of the 100 base power and perfectly accurate move to dish out huge damage output.
- Flip Turn is a handy Water-type move that lets Swampert do damage and switch out of unfavorable matchups.
- Knock Off is an excellent 65 base power move that has its damage output increased by 50% if the opponent carries a Held Item and also removes it. This move throws your opponent off-guard and often leads to their loss!
- Roar is another move to destroy your opponent’s strategies. If any Pokemon has boosted its stats with setup moves like Dragon Dance, Swords Dance, or Nasty Plot, you can eliminate those boosts and also switch them out to a random teammate by using this move.
And there you have it! This is all you need to know about using Swampert expertly in Pokemon battles. For more guides like this, be sure to check out the following:
