“Terrifying” Pokemon Scarlet & Violet glitch brings popular Gen 8 gimmick to DLC
The Pokemon CompanyDynamax/Gigantamax from Gen 8 may not be in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but a glitch has been doing the rounds in the latest DLC that turns Froakie into a “bizarre” giant, throwing players off-guard.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has its fair share of bugs and glitches involving the Pokemon, various locations, and the in-game graphics. While these were pretty common in the mainline game, players often come across such hilarious and often scary instances, even in the DLCs.
But nothing could have prepared a few Indigo Disk DLC fans for a hilariously unsettling glitch involving an iconic starter Pokemon in the Blueberry Academy Terarium that reminded them of the fan-favorite gimmick from the Galar region.
It all started when a Reddit user named ‘Hikarix33’ posted a clip from the Indigo Disk DLC where they came across a gigantic Froakie when swimming across the water on their Miraidon. The OP captioned the post with: “I wasn’t aware dynamax was a thing in Unova” and added: “This was at like 2am and I was TERRIFIED.”
The post captured the attention of several Pokemon Scarlet and Violet fans who were left in splits over the unusual glitch, calling it “bizarre” as well as “terrifying.”
Users joked: “This is a top 3 glitch ever for Scarlet/Violet you cannot change my mind” and “Crazy frog in Pokemon????” Even funnier, it looks like a good number of trainers have also experienced the ‘Dynamax Froakie’ in the Indigo Disk DLC.
“Omg so it wasn’t just me! This happened to me and it scared the sh*t out of me I was half asleep just farming TM materials at like 3 am lol f**k!” a player wrote.
Another added: “I encountered it while shiny hunting a Froakie and this was so scary I couldn’t actually finish it. It happened twice more and each time it was scarier and scarier.”
When a few fans asked how they could encounter the glitch, a user mentioned: “It happened to me during a mass outbreak really the only special thing!” Another stated the same by commenting: “It seems to be specifically a Froakie mass outbreak in this exact location. So bizarre and specific!”
With the glitch happening “in a specific outbreak in a specific location,” it looks like more DLC players can enjoy it during their adventure through the Terarium.
