Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis are two of the biggest actors in the world thanks to their work as the 80s action heroes of Rambo and John McClane, but a recent report suggests that the two high-profile actors did not work on bringing the two characters to Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, and CoD: Mobile.

May 18, 2021, saw plenty of excitement get injected into the Call of Duty community with the official details regarding the Season 3 Reloaded update for Warzone and Black Ops Cold War being announced.

Various kinds of content will be coming by way of the Season 3 Reloaded update, with two of the biggest additions being the introduction of Rambo and John McClane as two new Operators thanks to the 80s Action Heroes event that will be kicking off on May 20, 2021, for Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, and CoD: Mobile.

However, it looks as though Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis did not lend their talents to providing the voice of the latest incarnations of Rambo and John McClane.

According to a report by GameSpot, Stallone and Willis did not voice any new lines for the Warzone and Cold War versions of Rambo and John McClane or were consulted.

CoD: Mobile VP Chris Plummer told GameSpot that Activision worked closely with Studio Canal and Disney, the IP owners of the Rambo and Die Hard franchises, to bring Rambo and John McClane into the Call of Duty universe.

“We worked super closely with Studio Canal and Disney to make sure that these characters were brought to life with all their vivid detail and authenticity that fans would expect for those particular IP but also for Call of Duty,” Plummer said.

“We want to deliver it in a way where you recognize these guys, and you feel like you’ve seen those weapons, you’ve seen the looks on their faces; that was really important for us,” Plummer continued. “It took a lot of awesome artistry to get those details just right. It was definitely a deep collaboration with the IP holders and with our studios to create that awesome content.”

Raven Software Narrative Designer Natalie Pohorski stated that players would hear “lines directly from the franchise” when they play as the two legendary characters, so fans of the blockbuster 80s movie franchises will likely get plenty of nostalgia when playing during the Season 3 Reloaded update.

Unfortunately, it does not look as though completely original lines for the worlds of Call of Duty: Warzone, Black Ops Cold War, and CoD: Mobile will be coming from Rambo and John McClane via Stallone and Willis.
