For many Warzone players, the Gas Mask has been a constant source of frustration for over two years. Thankfully, this pain is about to end, with Raven confirming plans to change the animation to help players.

Warzone Season 2 Reloaded is set to be a huge patch for the game, merging the core and Vanguard versions of battle royale, and making the 150 HP change official across all modes. As promised earlier in the year, Raven are also working hard on quality of life changes to make the game more enjoyable for everyone.

One of those major changes will affect the Gas Mask. A useful tool to keep players alive in the dangerous gas that closes the combat area, players have been complaining for years about the animations involved in putting it on.

For years, if you’ve found yourself running away from the circle and jump off a building or cliff when it arrives, your character would ignore the fact they need to pull their parachute, and instead put on their Gas Mask as you fell to your death. Thankfully, this is about to change.

During an early preview event for Warzone Season 2 Reloaded, Raven Software confirmed that they will be deploying a fix for this in the near future. While it won’t be in the game when the patch drops, the devs stated that it will arrive in two-to-three weeks time.

This isn’t the first time Raven have tweaked Gas Mask animations this year. Back in February, the devs updated the item’s animation so it would stop triggering when players were aiming down sights.

While that change was well received, Raven still have some work to do to perfect them. With that in mind, the devs will also be fixing an issue involving Nebula Rounds, which emit gas to target players too.

While the Gas Mask animation wasn’t triggering in the game’s regular gas, it was happening when hit by gas from Nebula Rounds. This will be addressed so that the item works at all times.
