Resident Evil 8 Village Platforms
For those wondering if Resident Evil 8 is only coming out on the new consoles and PC – it won’t be.
The game will be available at release on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC.
Obviously, when you bring up the discussion of last-gen vs. current-gen, there is always going to be an inescapable fidelity issue between the versions.
But if you’re not planning on upgrading anytime soon, then at least you’ll have the option to play it on your current console.
Resident Evil 8 Village Story & Characters
The Resident Evil showcase answered a lot of questions people had regarding the series’ latest iteration. But it has also posed just as many as well.
Long-time hero Chris Redfield has been touted as a potential surprise villain in the newest game with trailers making him out to be an underhanded figure. The latest trailer shows him killing Ethan’s wife and stealing his child. It’s not the usual trademark heroism we’ve come to expect from him. So it’ll be interesting to see which direction Capcom takes him.
Other developments have led to the introduction of Lady Dimitrescu and the Witches Three. Evil and cunning figures that will only seek to make Ethan’s life a living hell.
All of this will be conducted in the Village: a gothic, surreal abode for many deranged creatures and providing little in the way of comfort. Resident Evil 8’s visuals, especially on current-gen, could make the landscape a beautiful prison for Ethan.
Resident Evil 8 Village Gameplay
Resident Evil 7 stripped back a lot of the Hollywood action-hero elements of Resi 6 and returned the gameplay to its roots, pacing the game around slower and more methodical gameplay, making you conscious of ammo, and inducing OCD because of your inventory.
Resident Evil 8 Village continues a lot of this and brings back the Guard system from the previous game. It also reintroduces some dynamic combat elements such as damaging limbs, and, of course, puzzles.
It also has to be stated that in many respects, Resident Evil 8 resembles Resident Evil 4 – considered by many to be the best in the series. Here some of the ways in which Resi 8 takes inspiration from it:
- Your items require careful management in your inventory and need rearranging
- Attache cases can be bought to upgrade your space
- “What’ll it be stranger?” – It’s not the same fan-favorite merchant, but it has a reoccurring one
- You need to collect monetary resources to buy stuff
- The setting
There will also be plenty of puzzles and new weapons and elements for returning, and new, players to enjoy.
Resident Evil 8 Village Demos
You can currently download the Resident Evil 8 Village “Maiden” demo from the PS5 store as it is an exclusive download for Sony’s flagship hardware.
It’s a short, non-combat demo about a character that won’t even be featured in the game. It’s more of a gentle teaser that whets the appetite for the main game.
But if you want your fix now and don’t have a PS5 then fear not. It has been confirmed that another demo for Resident Evil 8 Village will pop-up down the line for all consoles.
The showcase event has really helped to drum up excitement for the hugely-anticipated horror title and it’s sure to be a captivating and disturbing title in a year of potentially great games.

FIFA 23 new Icons leaked: Xabi Alonso, Gerd Muller, & Icon downgrades
Here’s a look at the returning Icons that should appear in FIFA 23’s Ultimate Team mode alongside the new Icon cards to expect.
Icon cards are a staple of the Ultimate Team mode and they’ll be making a return in FIFA 23. Here’s a list of returning Icons and a sneak peek at new Icons that leaks suggest will make their way to the game.
There’s nothing quite as exhilarating as packing an Icon card in Ultimate Team. FIFA 23 players will get the chance to do so once more as the legendary figures should continue to feature in Ultimate Team.
With every FIFA release the list of Icons available continues to grow and FIFA 23 will be no different. EA Sports tend to add around four new Icons per game, and leaks have revealed who these players could be.
Here’s everything you need to know about Icon cards in FIFA 23.
What are Icon cards in FIFA 23?
Icon cards honor the best players to grace the pitch throughout football history. For starters, there are three versions of each Icon card: base, mid, and prime. Each version is an ode to the player’s career from when they entered the scene to when they achieved global superstardom.
Not only do Icon cards usually boast a high overall rating, but they offer your squad special chemistry attributes.
FIFA 22 Icons were difficult to find in packs, but it won’t be impossible in FIFA 23. If luck isn’t on your side, you’ll have an opportunity to secure Icons as EA tend to add Icon SBCs later in the year.
FIFA 23 expected Icon cards
Two Icons were removed from FIFA 22 for various reasons and while Marc Overmars is not expected to return, leaks claim that Diego Maradona will return to FIFA 23. For the most part, players can expect the same selection of Icon cards from FIFA 22 to carry over to FIFA 23.
EA usually add a few new faces each year. In FIFA 22, players received Wayne Rooney, Iker Casillas, Cafu, and Robin Van Persie.
Ultimate Team leaker DonkTrading has suggested that David Villa, Alfredo Di Stefano, and Gerd Muller could be three of the new Icons arriving in FIFA 23. Meanwhile, FutSheriff has reported that Xabi Alonso, Gerd Muller, and Jerzinho will be the three new faces to appear as FIFA 23 Icons.
David Villa and Xabi Alonso are by far the youngest of the bunch having only recently retired in 2020 and 2017 respectively. Only time will tell if these leaks are accurate, but Di Stefano and Muller both made a lasting impact on the beautiful game, which solidifies their chances of being deemed Icons in FIFA 23.

We’ll have to wait for EA’s confirmation to see if the four rumored players make the cut, but judging by their playing careers, they’re all deserving of being a FIFA 23 Icon.
FIFA 23 Icon downgrades
Multiple FIFA leakers including Donk and Sheriff are also reporting that certain Icons will be downgraded to FUT Heroes in FIFA 23. If rumors are true, this marks the first time that an Icon player can lose their status from one game to the next.
So far only Nigeria’s Jay-Jay Okocha and Japan’s Hidetoshi Nakata are reportedly going from Icon to FUT Heroes. However, don’t be surprised to see more names join the list as FIFA 23’s release date approaches.

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal explains why players should avoid “trash” Vantage
Apex Legends pro ImperialHal believes the new Season 14 Legend Vantage is “trash,” as he comments on her sniper-focused kit.
Apex Legends Season 14 introduced Vantage as a brand-new Legend, and while most in the community have been enjoying her kit, pro player Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen believes the character is “trash.”
With that said, a pro player for TSM is not convinced by Vantage, calling her “one of the worst characters in the game,” especially in Ranked Leagues.
During a stream, ImperialHal shared his opinions on Apex Legends Season 14’s new Legend. While the pro has only had a week to get to know the character, ImperialHal feels that Vantage is “trash.”
While it seems like a pretty harsh take, ImperialHal does explain his opinion, stating that her kit is “really good early game,” but “gets worse as the game goes on.”
ImperialHal goes on, saying that “if you’re fighting off spawn she’s pretty good, but passed like the looting stage I feel like she’s not that good…as soon as it gets like to mid and late game, she’s like one of the worst characters in the game.”
The pro Apex Legends player does give fans of Vantage some hope, however, saying that she could be a really good pair with Newcastle, who received some pretty strong buffs to his kit in Season 14.
Overall, Hal just feels as if her Sniper’s Mark Ultimate ability is not strong enough for late game in ranked, “her ulty just gets really bad when it’s against like purple armors and red armors…playing ranked it just seems like I can’t do anything after the early game.”

Is Patrick Mahomes coming to Fortnite? Leaks claim new NFL skins arrive soon
According to leaks NFL cosmetics are set to return to Fortnite shortly, which could result in a Patrick Mahomes ICON skin.
Leaks have revealed that NFL cosmetics could be returning to Fortnite for another stint, which may lead to the reveal of the rumored Patrick Mahomes ICON skin.
Way back in 2018, NFL cosmetics made their way to Fortnite for the first time with the Gridiron skin. Fortnite players who purchased the skin could also utilize different variations that took on the color theme of the National Football League’s 32 teams.
With the NFL season set to start on Thursday, September 9, it’s no surprise that a Fortnite leaker is claiming NFL cosmetics will be returning to the game. The leaks also point toward the possible reveal of a Fortnite skin for Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
Patrick Mahomes ICON Series leaked for Fortnite
Although Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers are still dominating the NFL, American Football fans view Patrick Mahomes as their successor. In many ways, he is already the face of the NFL at the age of 26.
The universal admiration that Mahomes has developed due to his stellar play, has led to several genre-bending opportunities. According to Fortnite leaker ShiinaBR, a Patrick Mahomes ICON skin has been in the works for some time. With NFL cosmetics reportedly returning, it could be the perfect time to reveal said skin.
Fortnite fans in the replies were quick to question whether the returning NFL cosmetics would indeed be the Gridiron collection or an NFL collaboration that was released after the Gridiron skins.
According to players, the former would be a huge win as the Gridiron skins were well-liked, but the latter would be considered a disappointment: “I think he means the newer ones. Though, I could see them selling the original ones one last time for collectors since Fortnite didn’t say they would never come back.”
Given that these are just rumors, we’ll have to wait and see to find out which cosmetics are returning. Of course, the leaker also mentions that new NFL cosmetics alongside the rumored Patrick Mahomes ICON skin could arrive, so there’s plenty of reason to be excited.
