To advance in Resident Evil Village, players will need to overcome a tricky bell puzzle that isn’t all that clear. Our easy guide will show you where all 5 of them are to shoot in Castle Dimitrescu.

Resident Evil Village has taken inspiration from previous games in the franchise to create a compelling, rich, varied, and horrifying adventure. Capcom manages to find a great balance between intense combat and spine-chilling fear in a truly atmospheric setting.

One of the game’s stunning environments has to be Castle Dimitrescu, home to the extremely tall Lady Dimitrescu and her three daughters. During the game, Ethan has to collect four Angel Masks, but his route to one of them is impeded by the Atelier Room requiring 5 bells to ring. Our guide will show where they are, and what you’ll need to do to conquer the Resident Evil Village bells puzzle.

Where to find the 5 bells in Castle Dimitrescu’s Atelier Room

Castle Dimitrescu Bell #1

In classic Resident Evil fashion, the first bell is very easy and hard to miss. Next to the stairs leading up to the gears and swinging mechanism, you’ll see a giant bell sitting on top of a table.

Simply walk up to it, save your ammunition by equipping your knife, and swipe at the bell. It will ring and should ignite a flame above the bell.

If you look at the picture containing the note telling you to “Let the five bells of this chamber ring out,” and do a full 180, then you can look up and see this bell.

As usual, take careful aim at the bell, fire a single Pistol round, and watch the bell ricochet around and trigger a new flame.

The third one isn’t too tricky, but you could waste some ammo if you’re not careful. On the aforementioned swinging device, you can actually see the bell swinging from side-to-side.

We find the best way to hit it is to ascend the stairs and wait for the bell to reach its peak close to you. You only need a pistol for this, so wait for it to reach its prime position a couple of times so you know when to fire, and then when you’re ready, go for it.

The final two bells are a bit trickier and can rightfully throw people off. For bell number four, stay where you are after activating bell number three and look towards the middle of the room to see the chandelier overhead.

Unless you can somehow manage to get it in one, chances are you’ll end up shooting the chandelier once, which will send it careening back and forth. You’ll then need to land a second shot to hit the now exposed bell.

And last but not least is the deceptive bell, as the fifth and final one isn’t strictly in the Atelier Room. Once more, remain at the top of the stairs, and to the left of the chandelier, you can see a window letting light into the room.

On the second column of panes, you’ll see the bell in the distance. Take one shot to break the window, and then another to hit the bell. You should now have all 5 bells ringing simultaneously, and the giant portrait of Lady Dimitrescu should open for you to proceed!
