Respawn hint at big change coming to Apex Legends Golden Guns

Apex Legends fans are excited after one dev hinted at potential change to the battle royale’s Golden Guns.

Apex Legends Golden Guns

Apex Legends developers have hinted at some welcome changes for the battle royale’s pool of fully kitted Golden Guns, as many fans complained about not being able to change the sights that they have equipped.

When you jump into a match of Apex Legends, you’ll have to search around the area for some gear that will help you kit out your weapons with attachments and hop-ups. There are different tiers that are marked with different glowing colors.

Golden Guns, also known as fully kitted weapons, are the best ones that you can find in the midst of battle. These come with some nifty attachments already equipped, but a lot of players have issues with the sights.

Since the fully kitted weapons come with pre-equipped attachments, players aren’t able to select a sight of their choosing. This can be particularly irritating if the attachment isn’t the best fit for the weapon, since that can put you at a serious disadvantage.

Many fans, including a few Apex pros, have asked Respawn to bring a change to this feature. Cloud9’s Jamison ‘PVPX’ Moore sent out a tweet to a dev, requesting that they allow fans to change optics on Golden Guns.

In exchange for this change, he promised Respawn’s Josh Medina a tier 3 sub on Twitch. The developer then replied with a simple “!remindme,” referencing Reddit’s reminder system for when there’s a new change.

This has led to many Apex players speculating that Respawn are about to introduce a major change to the battle royale’s Golden Guns. Medina’s replies were filled with enthusiastic responses to his brief message.

However, just like with adjusting Legend hitboxes, this kind of change can cause balancing issues in the game. Since players are currently unable to pick attachments for these rare weapons, they can’t become too overpowered.

Respawn will have to be careful when implementing a change like this, and we probably won’t see it come into fruition until the start of a future season. Once there’s a new update regarding this, we’ll be sure to let you know.

Apex Legends leakers discover Season 15 Legend in game files

Apex Legends leaks have discovered a brand-new character name in the Season 14 game files, which could be the Season 15 Legend.

An Apex Legends leak may have possibly revealed the name of the Season 15 Legend, which some will remember from a previous huge Legend leak.

Apex Legends Season 14 has just got underway, giving players a brand-new Legend to enjoy, which pro player ImperialHal has some strong opinions about.

A new season of Apex doesn’t just mean a new Battle Pass, Collection Event, and buffs and nerfs in the patch notes, it also means that dataminers have a new game version to sift through and find unreleased information.

As always, these leakers have found new information on Apex Legends Season 15, including who the new Legend could be.

In a YouTube video from Apex Legends content creator bobz, it’s highlighted that dataminers have found a Holospray in the Season 14 game files that has Catalyst in the code: “hspray_epic_v22_catalyst_01.”

Back in Apex Legends Season 12, there was a massive leak that revealed a variety of unreleased Legends. At the time, Legends like Newcastle and Vantage were discovered, giving legitimacy to the leak as these Legends are now available.

In this leak there was also a Legend called Catalyst, who can reinforce cover and create structures with “ferro fluid.”

The fact that this name has popped up in the Season 14 game files as well further suggests that Catalyst will be seen in Apex Legends, and it could even be for Season 15.

It’s obviously a long way out until Season 15, and these are just leaks, so take them with a pinch of salt. However, it would make sense to see Catalyst in Season 15 considering the devs have added a Holospray with the character’s name.

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal explains why players should avoid “trash” Vantage

Apex Legends pro ImperialHal believes the new Season 14 Legend Vantage is “trash,” as he comments on her sniper-focused kit.

vantage in apex legends

Apex Legends Season 14 introduced Vantage as a brand-new Legend, and while most in the community have been enjoying her kit, pro player Phillip ‘ImperialHal’ Dosen believes the character is “trash.”

With the Apex Legends Season 14 update, players have finally got their hands on the latest Legend to join the roster, Vantage.

While it may be hard for Vantage to compete with the meta thanks to the buffs for Legends like Mad Maggie and Newcastle, she definitely offers players something different.

This new Recon Legend offers players a unique sniper-focused playstyle that has quite a few tricks already, as players found that Vantage can actually wall run.

With that said, a pro player for TSM is not convinced by Vantage, calling her “one of the worst characters in the game,” especially in Ranked Leagues.

During a stream, ImperialHal shared his opinions on Apex Legends Season 14’s new Legend. While the pro has only had a week to get to know the character, ImperialHal feels that Vantage is “trash.”

While it seems like a pretty harsh take, ImperialHal does explain his opinion, stating that her kit is “really good early game,” but “gets worse as the game goes on.”

ImperialHal goes on, saying that “if you’re fighting off spawn she’s pretty good, but passed like the looting stage I feel like she’s not that good…as soon as it gets like to mid and late game, she’s like one of the worst characters in the game.”

The pro Apex Legends player does give fans of Vantage some hope, however, saying that she could be a really good pair with Newcastle, who received some pretty strong buffs to his kit in Season 14.

Overall, Hal just feels as if her Sniper’s Mark Ultimate ability is not strong enough for late game in ranked, “her ulty just gets really bad when it’s against like purple armors and red armors…playing ranked it just seems like I can’t do anything after the early game.”

Best FOV Setting for Apex Legends Season 14

Apex Legends has a variety of settings which can enhance your experience, and here are the best FOV settings in Season 14.

Apex Legends players have the option of customizing FOV, to give them the best advantage possible, and here is the best FOV setting that you can use in Season 14 of the battle royale.

Apex Legends Season 14 has brought plenty of brand-new content for players to explore, including some Ranked Leagues changes and the addition of the new Legend Vantage.

It’s important to have the optimal game settings when hopping into the new season, and this includes FOV which you can customize to improve your view and give yourself a competitive edge over your opponents.

We’ll go over everything that you need to know about FOV in Apex Legends.

What is FOV in Apex Legends?

FOV stands for field of view, which is essentially the size of the viewing angle on the screen. If this setting is higher, it will allow for a bigger viewing angle, letting players see more around them. If this setting is lower, it will decrease the viewing angle.

The default FOV on Apex Legends is set to 70, which to most experienced players is extremely low. The setting can be adjusted to go all the way up to 110.

What Apex Legends FOV setting is best?

The best FOV setting lies between 96 and 104 depending on your setup. If you play on a big TV then you should have a higher FOV as the bigger screen will allow you to still see long-range targets.

While this setting is entirely up to your personal preference and setup, we strongly recommend that you keep it above 70 FOV. Otherwise, you’ll be limited in your ability to read what’s going on around you.

A high FOV on a smaller screen or monitor may distort your viewing and prevent you from seeing things at longer ranges, so in this case, we recommend that you keep your FOV in the 90s.

Ultimately, having your FOV between 90-104 will put you at an advantage over those with the default or lower, as you will be able to see more on the screen and react much quicker to situations.

After setting a new, higher FOV, you may also want to play around with your sensitivity and increase that, too, as these settings scale, and a higher FOV might make your original sensitivity feel too slow.
