Rocket League is turning seven! Celebrate soccar with Psyonix with special challenges, birthday ball modes, and the arrival of Golden Eggs as part of the Rocket League Birthday Ball.

It’s hard to believe that we’ve been driving rocket-powered cars at massive soccer balls for almost a decade. Easy to pick up but difficult to master, Rocket League has become a firm favorite with gamers around the world.

With the game’s seventh anniversary just around the corner, developer Psyonix has announced the Rocket League Birthday Ball, a special two-week event with the return of fan-favorite modes, new challenges, and more.

When is the Rocket League Birthday Ball event?

Rocket League’s Birthday Ball kicks off on Wednesday, July 6, and is scheduled to run until Wednesday, July 20.

The event starts a day before the game’s birthday as Thursday, July 7, actually marks the seventh anniversary of Rocket League’s release.

Rocket League Birthday Ball challenges & rewards

Psyonix says that the game’s seventh anniversary “isn’t just about [them],” and wants to celebrate “the players and community who helped grow Rocket League.”

With that in mind, the developers are adding a set of Birthday Ball Challenges, where players can earn a Golden Goat Player Banner, a Precious Metal Avatar Border, an Import Item Drop, and 20,000 XP.

On top of those sweet treats, anyone who completes all of the Birthday Ball challenges will also get 300 Credits as a thank you. The challenges haven’t been revealed just yet, so we don’t know how hard they will be. Still, with rewards like these, it’s worth giving them a go.

Fan-favorite modes return & Seventh Anniversary Cosmetics

Psyonix will be bringing back two fan-favorite modes to help fans celebrate the big birthday. For Week One, 2v2 Heatseeker is back, a mode that gives the ball homing abilities that make it gravitate towards your opponent’s goal.

In Week Two, Knockout is back, allowing players to send players flying out of the arena with the unique Attack, Block, and Grab mechanics.

On top of all that, Psyonic will also be adding some special cosmetics to the Item Shop too, with the Titanium White Fennec, Fancy Formal Fennec decal, Spyder: Anniversary Edition Wheels, and Top Hat: Anniversary Edition topper all available to purchase.

Golden Eggs

Throughout the two weeks of Birthday Ball, players will be able to earn Golden Eggs, which can be used to unlock items from Champions Series 1-4.

Golden Eggs are just like other Golden rewards, which can be earned by completing challenges five times.

Completing the Birthday Ball challenges will require plenty of car-ball action, so give yourself an advantage over your opponents with the best Rocket League camera settings.

Powerful Apex Legends glitch allows players to carry active Heat Shields on their head

Apex Legends players have noticed a new glitch in Season 14 which allows Heat Shields to be placed on character’s heads.

A new powerful glitch has been found in Apex Legends after the Season 14 update which sticks Heat Shields on top of the character.

A new season of Apex Legends doesn’t just mean a new Legend, it also usually means new bugs and issues for the devs to fix.

While the Apex Legends Season 14 update launched smoothly, players have noticed some odd glitches and issues, such as characters having the wrong abilities and Wattson being unable to place her fences.

Now, players have found a bug in Season 14 which puts Heat Shields on the player’s head, which is actually very strong.

Reddit user JomzYT put a video up in the Apex Legends subreddit showing off this new Heat Shield glitch, along with the caption “Apparently you can now put heatshields on your head!”

In the video, the player goes to place a Heat Shield down when it miraculously lands on their head and stays with them while they move.

Heat Shields are extremely useful in Apex Legends, as they protect you from the ring and can often save you or your teammate’s life, giving you time to heal up before making your way back into the ring.

Usually, they are placed on the floor, and can not be moved. However, with this glitch, the player is free to move around and remain protected by the Heat Shield, which is stuck to their head.

The fact that the player can move around with the Heat Shield makes this bug very powerful, leaving some in the comments of the post jokingly saying that “it’s a feature,” and a “buff.”

According to one of the users in the comments, this bug is associated with Vantage and could be to do with her winged companion Echo: “This is a thing that happens with Vantage at times, I accidentally pinged myself and my own echo earlier today. Seems like Echo stays physical even when holstered, this leaves one question. Rampart turret on Echo?”

Perhaps the Heat Shield was attached to Echo, as the player had not called the bat out. This has players reminiscing about similar bugs with Crypto and his drone: “Oh gosh, I remember when we had that bug with Crypto. That was funny, flying around on your turret shooting at people.”

Although it doesn’t seem like a major issue, Respawn will likely get this patched up as soon as possible. For more on Apex Legends, check out what NICKMERCS had to say about the Valkyrie nerfs in Season 14.

How many people play MultiVersus? 2022 player count

MultiVersus is a new fighting game that is taking the world by storm, so let’s find out how many people are playing MultiVersus in 2022.

Fighting game fans have been sinking their teeth into MultiVersus as the new title continues to generate quite the buzz. Here’s a look at how many people play MultiVersus in 2022.

MultiVersus is a brand-new platform fighter that launched its beta in July 2022. Not only is the game free-to-play, but it’s what’s known as a crossover fighter, akin to Super Smash Bros, that allows players to choose between several well-known characters.

Fan favorite playable characters like Batman, Bugs Bunny, The Iron Giant, and even LeBron James have led to a ton of excitement for the game. While MultiVersus Season 1 has yet to begin, it already has a massive player base that is set to continue to grow.

Here’s a breakdown of how many people have played MultiVersus since its launch.

How many people play MultiVersus?

As of August 10, MultiVersus has reached 10.6 million total players. This is an incredibly impressive accomplishment for such a young game still in its beta form. These numbers are available via tracker.gg, and you shouldn’t expect the continued climb in active players to slow down anytime soon.

Given the diverse array of characters and licenses involved in the project, it’s natural that the game is getting compared to Super Smash Bros. However, it truly brings something different to the table as players are enjoying everything that major publisher Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment is bringing to the table.

The fledgling game even earned a spot at EVO 2022, the legendary fighting game tournament. MultiVersus early involvement at EVO has undoubtedly brought more players to the game, and given its free-to-play nature, it’s difficult to ignore.

The current cast of characters truly blends pop culture worlds with so many incredible choices. In addition, it’s already been confirmed that more characters are on the way. Season 1 will introduce players to Rick and Morty as the pair join the fight.

Continued dev support from Player First Games is going to be vital in keeping the game thriving with new updates and fixes. With the feedback received from MultiVersus’ early days, the devs could ensure that 2022 continues to be a major year for the new title.

Wattson’s fence unusable in Apex Legends despite Season 14 fixes

Players are having trouble with Wattson’s fences yet again in Apex Legends, despite the Legend receiving fixes in Season 14 update.

Apex Legends players are frustrated with Wattson’s fences as they claim the ability is unusable in Season 14.

Apex Legends players are finally able to enjoy the brand new Season 14 update, as the season dropped on August 9. Players have been getting to grips with Vantage, the overhauled Kings Canyon map, and various buffs and nerfs in the patch notes.

While some in the community have been focused on the Valkyrie nerfs and Mad Maggie buffs, which could potentially see her rise in popularity, others are disappointed with Wattson.

The new update supposedly brought improvements to Wattson’s fence placement, but the community have been experiencing the opposite.

Reddit user oscarwildeaf has highlighted the issue with Wattson’s fences on the Apex Legends subreddit, posting a video of the problem while sarcastically saying “another great patch for Wattson.”

The patch notes claimed that the devs had made “improvements” to the placement of Wattson fences, as there have been many issues with the ability in the past.

In the video, the player attempts to place Wattson fences but is inconveniently unable to do so, despite the UI showing that it is possible.

This is obviously extremely frustrating for Wattson players in Apex Legends Season 14, as her electric fences are her main tool and this isn’t the first time there have been issues with it.

One user in the comments of the post even said “Wattsons been dealing with this for a while anytime they change fences or arcstars they break s***. You can expect a fix maybe in season 15, time to retire Wattson for 14.”

Clearly, this player feels that Wattson’s fence placement will be broken for some time, but hopefully Respawn prove them wrong and bring a permanent fix for the issue soon.

On the topic of bugs and issues, a new Apex Legends Season 14 glitch is causing characters to have the wrong abilities, making for some hilarious clips.
