Rumor: Black Ops Cold War to get ‘Outbreak’ open world style Zombies mode

A new rumor from leaks claims Black Ops Cold War will get a ‘open world’ Zombies style mode soon.

The leak, which popped up on Reddit and Twitter, says Black Ops Cold War is set to get a new mode called ‘Outbreak.’

This mode, per the leak, is set to be an “open world style” Zombies mode in Black Ops Cold War. The co-op based gameplay will be played on one of the large scale Fireteam maps available in the game.

The leak states that it’s a “Treyarch-style” PVE mode.

It’s not clear from the leak exactly how this mode would work overall. The mechanics and specific details remain unconfirmed.

An open world style Zombies mode could have a lot of different ways to play and explore, but rewards and how it could tie into the main line story is yet to be seen.

This would be the first time in history that Call of Duty would have an ‘open world’ mode for their Zombies gameplay. Treyarch has had Zombies in other places within the franchise like Black Ops 4’s Blackout mode in the past.

Activision has not acknowledged this leak or confirmed it’s true, so take it lightly till the company says something either way.

The next major content drop for Black Ops Cold War is set to be Season 2’s launch, which based on the Battle Pass timer inside of the game, is set to begin in the last week of February.
