Sledgehammer games rumored to make CoD 2021

Although there is no official word on what the next Call of Duty title will be, or who’s developing it, reliable leaker Tom Henderson believes Sledgehammer Games will be working on the next release.

We’re months away from having any information surrounding Call of Duty 2021. The only thing we know for sure is that it’s not being developed by Treyarch Studios, as they only recently released Black Ops Cold War and will be maintaining and updating it over 2021.

Popular Call of Duty leaker Tom Henderson, formerly known as YouTuber Long Sensation, believes that CoD 2021 will be helmed by Sledgehammer Games.

Sledgehammer Games developing CoD 2021?

On January 3, Henderson Tweeted out a Call of Duty development timeline for the past year in which has all three studios fall into place.

He clarified that this is not a leak, but an educated guess based on Call of Duty’s development times. This year’s title is on the slate for November 2021 and Infinity Ward was still developing Warzone until September 2020, so that would only give them 14 months to develop a new CoD game.

Sledgehammer Games has reportedly been working on a new Call of Duty title since August 2019 which is a far more reasonable timeframe for a 2021 release. Therefore, Henderson made the educated guess that SH will be developing Call of Duty 2021.

Sledgehammer Games will be known to most Call of Duty fans for developing Advanced Warfare and WWII. These games had a mixed reception and for the past few years, SH has been assisting Infinity Ward and Treyarch with recent titles.

However, they have confirmed they are working on multiple projects and have opened up a new studio in Australia, and hired over 150 employees. It’s possible that the expansion is to develop CoD 2021.

As for the setting for this year’s Call of Duty, Henderson doesn’t believe it will be set far in the future like Advanced Warfare. He is confident that Sledgehammer’s game will integrate with Warzone in the same way that Black Ops Cold War did in 2020. It’s unlikely that a futuristic laser rifle will be added to Warzone so the time period shouldn’t stray too far from the modern-day.

“Advanced Warfare 2 and a WWII sequel are both plausible,” said Henderson during a livestream. He followed up in a YouTube video that an Advanced Warfare sequel could act as a prequel.

Some fans believe the Sledgehammer Melee Weapon coming to Cold War is a breadcrumb hinting at the future of Call of Duty, but that’s unlikely.

Vanguard Season 3 Operators

Call of Duty: Vanguard devs Sledgehammer Games released an update on May 16 that delivers major changes to Combat Pacing, and fixes some camo challenges in Season 3.

Vanguard players have long since complained about the poor map rotation and disappointing Combat Pacing mechanic, but it now seems like the devs are actively working to alleviate this major issue in Season 3.

On May 16, a brand-new update hit Vanguard and it focuses on improving the map rotation by making some major changes to how Combat Pacing functions. The update also provides a few fixes to camo challenges.

Vanguard Combat Pacing changes

Combat Pacing Filter Vanguard

For starters, the devs decided to remove Assault Combat Pacing from the Quick Play and Featured Playlists. This leaves Tactical and Blitz as the two remaining Combat Pacing options in Vanguard. The devs explained that only 5% of players choose to play on Assault Pacing, and they believe that removing it altogether will lead to an improvement in map rotation.

Since Assault Pacing has been removed, the minimum and maximum player counts for both Tactical and Blitz have been tuned. You can take a look at the number of players per match on each map in the chart below.

Feature Update

  • Assault Combat Pacing filter removed from Quick Play and Featured Playlists
    • This change intends to improve diversity in map rotation. Although Assault Combat Pacing is the choice for just 5% of players, its impact on matchmaking cannot be understated. By removing this option, we aim to improve map rotation across all Quick Play playlists. We will be monitoring your feedback and game analytics to assess if this change has made the desired improvements. Give it a try, and let us know how you feel.
  • Minimum and maximum player counts for Tactical and Blitz Combat Pacings have been tuned. For more details check out the Sledgehammer Games blog for the most recent Patch Notes.

Quickscoping is an essential part of any Call of Duty game, but you need to have the right class to make it a truly effective option. He’s everything you need to create the best Vanguard quickscoping loadout, including attachments, perks, and more.

Sniping is a Call of Duty staple and it’s remained just as powerful in Vanguard. The game has a wide selection of powerful Sniper Rifles for you to use. Since launch, players have been able to use the Type 99, 3-Line Rifle, and Kar98k

We recommend going with the Kar98k since it’s the quicker option. This rapid rifle comes with plenty of firepower, and you can equip it to create the best quickscoping loadout in Vanguard Season 3.

Best Vanguard Kar98k quickscoping attachments

  • Muzzle: L Brake
  • Barrel: Krausnick 560MM LWS03K
  • Optic: M1913 Variable 4-8x
  • Stock: Short Stock
  • Underbarrel: SMLE Pistol Grip
  • Magazine: 8MM Klauser 3 Round Mag
  • Ammo Type: Lengthened
  • Rear Grip: Fabric Grip
  • Proficiency: Quickscope
  • Kit: Fully Loaded

As this is a quickscoping loadout, we’ll prioritize speed and accuracy when adding attachments. For the muzzle, we’ve gone for the L Brake for its +1 accuracy, along with the Krausnick 560MM LWS03K barrel which provides a healthy ADS boost.

We went with the M1913 Variable 4-8x optic as it gives us two valuable options to switch between with ease, while the Short Stock lets you move faster and negates a lot of ADS time.

The SMLE Pistol Grip is our underbarrel of choice, as it not only increases your Sprint-to-Fire time by 11% but also increases hip-fire accuracy by 4%.

The 8MM Klauser 3 Round Mag and Fabric Grip are perfect for quick reloading and improved ADS speed, while the Lengthened ammo type will really help you pack a punch when you hit your enemies. Finally, the Quickscope proficiency improves your accuracy after ADS, while Fully Loaded will keep you stocked up with ammo.

Best Perks & Equipment for quickscoping in Vanguard

Vanguard Perks

Best Perks

  • Perk 1: Ghost
  • Perk 2: Radar
  • Perk 3: Double Time

For Perk 1, Ghost is a solid choice as it keeps you hidden from Spy Planes, enemy intel, and Field Mics as long as you’re moving. You’ll be able to pull off some effective flanks with this Perk equipped.

If you prefer the traditional minimap where unsuppressed fire is shown, you can’t go wrong with the Radar Perk.

And finally, Double Time doubles your Tactical Sprint time and increases crouched movement, allowing you to quickly dart around the map to keep the element of surprise.

Lethal Equipment in Call of Duty Vanguard

Best Equipment

  • Lethal Equipment: Gammon Bomb
  • Tactical Equipment: No 69 Stun Grenade

For equipment, the Gammon Bomb is an effective Lethal as it explodes on impact. Then, to limit the enemies’ vision and movement, the No 69 Stun Grenade is perfect.

You can speed this up by checking out our detailed guide on how to level up fast in Vanguard. Once you reach Level 43, you’ll be able to start quickscoping enemies during long-range combat.

Best alternatives to Kar98k in Vanguard

Elden Ring dethrones Vanguard as the best-selling game of the last year

A new report confirms FromSoftware’s Elden Ring has dethroned Vanguard as the best-selling game of the past 12 months.

Published

Elden Ring best selling game Vanguard

Action role-playing game Elden Ring was one of the biggest video game releases of 2022 and a new report proves that it has dethroned Vanguard as the best-selling game of the past 12 months.

Prior to its February 25, 2022 release date, Elden Ring was one of the most highly anticipated AAA video game titles in recent years. While Elden Ring launched to critical acclaim, the scope of its commercial success based on its sales numbers is truly impressive.

Traditionally, premium Call of Duty titles dominate the sales charts for multiple months in a row, but the poor reception of Vanguard opened the door for Elden Ring to do something that hasn’t been done in many years.

vanguard season 3 mayhem map

An NPD sales report that calculates video game sales for a 12-month period has Elden Ring as the best-selling game in the US. The 12-month period takes into account sales until the end of April 2022.

This window makes the accomplishment all the more impressive when you consider Vanguard released on November 5, 2021. Vanguard had a nearly four-month advantage on Elden Ring’s February 25, 2022 release date, and yet as of April 2022, Elden Ring is the top-selling game of the past 12 months.

Elden Ring’s accomplishment is historic seeing as this is the first time in many years that a Call of Duty title is not the best-selling game for a 12-month period in the US. It seems the last game to do this was GTA V, which was initially released in 2013.

It’s unfortunate that sales numbers aren’t disclosed in the report, but Bandai Namco did reveal that Elden Ring had sold upwards of 13.4 million units worldwide as of March 31. This number has likely increased by a couple of million since then.

While Vanguard sales were still strong compared to other titles, Activision confirmed that the game failed to meet the franchise’s expectations. Luckily for CoD fans, the sales outlook for Modern Warfare 2 is already considerably positive following Vanguard’s disappointment.
