Ahead of the Apex Legends Season 10 launch, a secret change to Octane has been revealed that should make the Legend’s Launch Pad easier to hear in Season 10 Emergence.

Octane continues to be an insanely popular Legend to use in Apex Legends, and Season 9 was no different. Now, it’s the time of Season 10, and Emergence will be adding a new Legend in Seer, a wave of buffs and nerfs for various Legends, amongst other cool stuff.

Respawn Entertainment released a full list of updates for Season 10 but forgot one small detail in the patch notes. It concerns Octane’s Launch Pad and aims to address one commonly discussed problem with it.

Director of Communications at Respawn Entertainment Ryan K. Rigney was informed that an important update hadn’t been mentioned in the Apex Legends Season 10 patch notes.

He said: “Just heard from a dev about an Emergence update change that didn’t get tracked in the patch notes: The audio triggered by players’ landing impacts should be louder when they’re coming in from a jump pad.”

Depending on the severity of the change, this could be huge news as Octane is statistically the most used player in Apex Legends, according to Apex Legends Status.

Players have wanted this to be looked at for some time as it’s possible for Octane players to glide into a location relatively silently to jump another player.

Not everyone is confident the fix will properly amend the issue, with one reply to the Tweet saying: “should.”

Ryan was quick to respond to this doubt by saying: “This is game development, something can always go wrong.” This will just be one change amidst a sea of alterations in Apex Legends Season 10, so even if it’s not the absolute fix that people want, there’s still a lot of new content and changes to embrace.
