Secret Warzone buffs make “aimbot” Cluster Strikes impossible to survive

Warzone players believe that the Pacific update has given the Cluster Strike Killstreak a major buff where they track players like “aimbot.”

Killstreaks are one of the most sought-after and powerful tools in Warzone. These mainstays of the Call of Duty franchise can be deployed to hunt down players and even give them an explosive trip to the Gulag.

But, it appears that the Warzone Pacific Season 1 update has given Cluster Strikes a secret major buff where they now track players as if they have “aimbot.”

Cluster Strikes were known to be more of a deterrent than a lethal tool, where their blast radius would be marked on the map for all nearby players to see. However, it appears that they’ve become more lethal after a clip showed the strike zones chasing a player well outside of the initial area.

Small streamer LensEffect asked “Since when are cluster strikes heat seeking? First the planes have aimbot, now these.”

In the clip attached, LensEffect gets the notification for a Cluster Strike being called on him, so pops a Stimshot to make a quick escape. But it appears that the Cluster Strike chases him a considerable distance, making it impossible to avoid and leading to an unfortate death.

Top Warzone pro Tommey agreed, saying that Cluster Strikes have “always followed the player but they’ve definitely buffed how much they track now.”

There has been no sign of this change in any of the patch notes, so it appears this was a stealth change made by Raven Software. Whether it was intentional or not remains to be seen.

But for the time being, it appears that Cluster Strikes have become an extremely powerful tool in Warzone Pacific, and will be well worth picking up at Caldera’s Buy Stations.

We expect there to be another Warzone update soon, as “busted” Shotguns and a glitch allowing players to respawn with their full loadout have been plaguing the Festive Fervor event.
