Is there a Skate release date?

Currently, there is no official release date for Skate 4, which is officially just called “Skate.” Having said that, the devs have made it clear that they will release the game “when it’s ready.”

Playtesting for Skate has been happening for around a year, and the devs have started opening up more about the development and even offering those who sign up on the Skate website a chance to playtest the game.

With that being said, the game could still be a while out, likely releasing in 2023 rather than this year.

  1. Visit the Skate website
  2. Click “Insider Registration”

Skate platforms, crossplay, & cross progression

Skate will be a free-to-play live service model that is available on every platform. The devs also made it clear on their YouTube video “The Board Room,” that crossplay and cross-progression will be available.

This means that Skate will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and even mobile, as the devs announced that they are indeed working on a hand-held version of the game.

Skate will be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, but it’s unclear whether it will release on the previous generation of consoles. As more information is released we will be sure to update this section so stay tuned.

Skate gameplay features

Skate takes place in the fictional city of San Vansterdam, possibly hinting at a close relation to the popular skate shoe brand, Vans. The devs have a strong stance on giving the players what they want and implementing features based off the community’s suggestions.

The developers describe Skate as an “authentic evolution” of the beloved franchise, it “still feels like Skate…it has that visceral feeling, but also it has the chaos, the slams, you know, the fun with physics. ”

At the same time, they also explain that there are a lot of “new features,” including more parkour options such as climbing and swinging, as well as new Multiplayer features such as the “Collabo Zones,” which are “wild cooperative building areas.”

The devs also touched on microtransactions, stating that it’s something they have implemented to support the free-to-play model, inspired by Apex Legends. These microtransactions will be strictly cosmetic and not pay-to-win.

Skate trailer

Full Circle released their first gameplay trailer on June 30 called “Still Working On It,” giving fans a look at “pre-pre-pre-alpha” gameplay as well as information on the development process.

Skate is setting up to be a huge success for both new and returning players of the franchise. As more information is released regarding the game, we will be updating this piece. For now, check out the biggest games to come in 2022.

Apex Legends players call for devs to make Firing Range change after Season 14 update

Apex Legends players are calling for the devs to fix the Firing Range after the Season 14 update changed the way players die.

apex legends dummy in firing range

Apex Legends players have noticed a difference in the Firing Range after the Season 14 update, and now they are calling for the devs to make a change.

Apex Legends players are still getting used to the changes in Season 14, as there have been both drastic updates to existing content and new introductions such as Vantage and the Laser Sight attachment.

With that said, players have already found great ways to utilize Vantage and also discovered how strong character buffs are, including Mad Maggie and Newcastle‘s.

However, like any new update, Season 14 has brought some pretty crazy glitches, and players have also found an unwanted change in the Firing Range that they’re now calling for the devs to revert.

apex legends firing range

Players often use the Firing Range to practice and 1v1 others, but the removal of the Self-Revive has caused these interactions to be much slower and less enjoyable.

Prior to the Self-Revive’s removal, players would 1v1 with a Gold Knockdown Shield so that if they went down, they could easily get back up or switch characters to gain health and retain their loadout.

This prevented the effort of having to respawn and collect your loadout again, allowing players to 1v1 efficiently. Unfortunately, as Skeptation has highlighted, the removal of Self-Revive means this is no longer possible.

Now, Skeptation and others who agree in the comments are calling for the devs to “change this so players get downed not full killed with friendly fire on.”

While it’s not a major issue, it is clearly something the fans want and may have actually been something that the devs didn’t consider when they took the Self-Revive out of the game.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens, but for now, check out how Apex Legends has reached new heights in Season 14.
