Sledgehammer Games has confirmed that they will be providing future developer support for Call of Duty: WWII.

In a Tweet on August 22, the studio announced that they will be ‘supporting CoD: WWII as long as people are playing it’ following questions from community members.

With the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 set for October 12, some fans have challenged if WWII will receive the same upkeep from Sledgehammer, even if it is not the ‘main’ title out.

Although the exact nature of Sledgehammer’s future intentions with CoD: WWII are unknown.

It is theorized that the studio could potentially follow the same path as Treyarch with Black Ops 3 and release new weapons years after the title was launched, but their plans still remain unannounced.
