Sony removes Cyberpunk 2077 from PlayStation store after refund outcry

Sony has removed Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation store following excessive amounts of refund requests.

In an insane turn of events, Sony has decided to pull the plug on selling Cyberpunk 2077 in the PlayStation store until further notice.

This comes 3 days after CD Projekt Red instructed unsatisfied customers to request a refund from Sony for the poor performance of the base PS4 version of the game, after public outcry. The game was referred to as unplayable by much of the community and would dip down to as low as 15 frames during gameplay.

Shortly after this message was posted, unsatisfied PlayStation players requested refunds in droves, eventually leading to the point of Sony completely removing the game from the PlayStation store today, December 17.

If you have a PS5 or PS4 Pro and own the game, you can continue playing if you believe the game runs to your liking. If you’re unsatisfied though, you can apply now for a full refund.

Unfortunately, since there is only the PS4 version of Cyberpunk available (with a PS4 Pro enhanced mode), the game must be pulled entirely off the PlayStation store due to the unacceptable quality of the base version of the game.

Cyberpunk 2077’s publisher, CDProjektRed has yet to make a comment. We will update you if a response is posted.
