Spec Ops in Modern Warfare is a ‘continuation of the campaign,’ will be supported post-launch

Infinity Ward’s Art Director sat down with GameInformer for a 129 Rapid Fire Question Interview to talk about all things Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Emsile touched on the Spec Ops mode for the game and stated that the mode is much more “in depth” than what was in previous Call of Duty games.

He also has now stated that the Spec Ops mode will be a “continuation of the campaign” in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which will be more enticing for some players to checkout the co-op mode. Spec Ops will also support split-screen and be the 4 player co-op mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. There is no Zombies in this game.

Emsile also confirmed that the studio will be supporting the mode post launch with new updates and even missions, and with no season pass, those missions will most likely be free in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. Activision has only mentioned free maps in the context of MP not Spec-Ops.
