It’s back. Yes, the standard mini-map returns in Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War.

Infinity Ward decided to change up the mini-map for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.

Initially, Infinity Ward opted to fully remove the mini map and only show up when the player earns a streak in the game. After feedback in the beta, the team added it back in but it did not show enemy fire in Modern Warfare.

Now, with Black Ops Cold War, Treyarch is bringing back the standard mini map that shows the red dots when enemies fire.

The mini-map is almost a combination of the standard Black Ops style mini map with the Fog of War introduced in Black Ops 4. It has elements introduced in Black Ops 4 including a circular shape with outlines around the border itself.

In addition to the mini-map, the compass feature introduced in Modern Warfare is also back in Black Ops Cod War at the top of the screen. Treyarch has not stated why they have a combination of both in MP.
