Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is the highly anticipated sequel to Fallen Order, arriving on April 28. While the game launches on current-gen consoles and PC, here’s whether it’ll be available on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was an instant hit when it arrived back in 2019, quickly becoming of the most adored games set in George Lucas’ sci-fi universe. It’s no surprise then that the follow-up, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, is set to be one of the biggest releases of 2023.

The sequel is going even bigger than the original, with new planets, sprawling semi-open worlds to explore, and more combat options than ever before, pushing hardware to its limit.

If you’re planning on picking up the game ahead of its launch, you might be wondering whether Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is available on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, and here’s everything you need to know.

Is Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on PlayStation 4 & Xbox One?

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will not be available on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, being exclusive to the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

While other new titles like Hogwarts Legacy opted to release a last-gen version later down the line, there are currently no plans for Jedi: Survivor to hit older hardware.

The game’s director, Stig Asmussen, justified the lack of a PS4 or Xbox One release in an interview with PLAY Magazine, saying that the team didn’t want to scale back their ambitions to cater to the less powerful systems.

He explained that in the sequel Respawn have created “much larger maps, with more detail, greater density, broader enemy/NPC variety, and overall fidelity,” and they wanted to build on the strong foundation laid by Jedi: Fallen Order.

“We didn’t want to break what we did in the first game because it was well received, but we wanted to evolve/enhance the experience,” Asmussen continued. “This new generation allowed us to do exactly that, and I believe it translates to a true new-gen experience in the Star Wars universe.”

Based on these comments, it seems unlikely that Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will arrive on PS4 or Xbox One in the future.

Is Star Wars Jedi: Survivor on Nintendo Switch?

Cal and Cere in Star Wars Jedi: SurvivorDon’t expect Jedi Survivor on the Nintendo Switch any time soon.

No, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will not arrive on the Nintendo Switch. Fallen Order skipped the Nintendo handheld in 2019 and Survivor won’t be on the Switch either.

It could arrive on the Nintendo Switch as a cloud version later down the road but it’s unlikely. EA’s website only allows pre-orders for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Epic Games Store, and the EA App.

If you’re a Star Wars fan with only a Nintendo Switch then Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga or old favorites such as Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy or Republic Commando are great choices. Plus, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom arrives on May 12.
