Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s ‘Slow Mode’ makes combat & platforming easy
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor has introduced a Slow Mode accessibility feature that enhances the user experience with the game. Here are all the details you need to know about it.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is almost here and we have got the details for the new accessibility features that Respawn have introduced ahead of its release. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order received a lot of appreciation for its storytelling, gameplay, and fan-favorite characters such as Cal Kestis, Nightsister Merrin, Greez, and Cere Junda. However, fans were keen to see some improvement in the platforming mechanics.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s developers have listened to the feedback and implemented new accessibility features, and one feature that could have a huge impact is the new Slow Mode which makes combat and platforming easy.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor accessibility features Slow Mode
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor developers Respawn Entertainment have revealed the game’s new accessibility features and among them, the Slow Mode option can potentially slow down the motion of action.
According to the devs, the Slow Mode toggle will allow users to slow down the game’s motion “to ease the challenge of both combat and platforming.”
Jonas Lundqvist, Senior Director of Development, said that initially, experimenting with this option was meant to check its utility in combat. However, they soon realized it could prove to be an intriguing feature for anything that had a “time component.”
The developers moved forward with this new feature based on what they learned from Fallen Order community feedback. They tried to incorporate more platform accessibility with Jedi Survivor. Additionally, players will also see subtitles, closed captions, visual adjustments, control customization, gameplay modifiers, and difficulty options.
In Jedi: Fallen Order, fans saw four difficulty modes: Jedi Knight, Jedi Master, Jedi Grand Master, and Story Mode but the developers have now added a new difficulty mode, Jedi Padawan.
It will present a challenge unlike Story Mode but will be less aggressive than Jedi Knight. Parry times will be generous but enemies will deal comparatively higher damage than what they deliver in Story Mode.
Currently, it’s not clear to what extent the Slow Mode will impact platforming or whether there would be any restrictions for using specific options in combat. Fans will soon find out about the latest advances when the game launches on April 28.
