Starfield: How to level up Theft pickpocketing skill fast
BethesdaStarfield has several functional abilities and skills to make use of in your playthrough. The Theft skill allows the player to pickpocket other NPCs in the game. As it is widely regarded as one of the most powerful skills in the game, here’s how to level it up fast.
Starfield has already become one of the most successful ventures by Bethesda. After achieving the most successful launch in the developers’ history, players are getting hooked on the game. One of the biggest selling points of the RPG is its diverse skill tree.
In Starfield’s skill tree, there are a ton of useful abilities to harness. One of the best skills in the title is the Theft skill, as pickpocketing can get very overpowered if you use it correctly in your playthrough.
Here’s how to level up the Theft skill fast in Starfield.
How to quickly rank up Theft pickpocket skill in Starfield
To put it simply, you will have to pickpocket people to level up the Theft skill in Starfield. But sometimes, it can get quite annoying if you are constantly getting caught. Plus, you will also have to select the ideal locations to start your activities as it is difficult to find a lot of people among the 1000 and more planets in the game.
To prevent all this, you will need to check two important things:
- Farming spot: Find an enemy base with lots of enemies to loot from.
- Gear of choice: Get your hands on an EM weapon that’s useful for stunning enemies, like the Novablast Disruptor. Also, armor with the Camouflage trait can be quite useful.
You can find enemy bases from any bounty hunting missions, or faction quests like the one in Freestar Rangers. Most of the missions that want you to kill some pirate or spacer leader, or engage the Crimson Fleet in combat, will be hosted in an enemy base.
Once you get inside these bases in Starfield, get into stealth mode as you will have to sneak your way to get the most effective results. Grab your EM weapon, and keep stunning enemies one by one. This makes it really easy to pickpocket them as they should generally not wake up easily.
Keep in mind that you are not actually killing them, so it might get a bit difficult with stronger enemies. You can always turn your difficulty down to “Very Easy” as it will also grant you extra XP. Make sure to only focus on the Theft skill and upgrade it as you gain XP by killing them later.
Best pickpocket farming gear in Starfield
The UC Vanguard questline gives you some essential boosts for ranking up the pickpocket skill in Starfield as you can get hold of a Novablast Disruptor and a UC armor with the Camouflage trait in it.
This was everything you had to know about leveling up the Theft skill in Starfield. Keep in mind that you do not necessarily have to follow this as you can also pickpocket people in the cities. However, that method will be much slower and a bit inconvenient if you constantly get caught.
