Starfield Juno

Juno is a rogue AI that you can come across while you are making your way through the galaxy in Starfield. But this encounter forces you to make a choice that can be morally conflicting. So here’s whether you should save or destroy Juno in Juno’s Gambit quest in Starfield.

From multiple faction missions, side quests, and ship-building, to house-building, planet surveys, and more, there’s a lot you can do in Starfield apart from the main campaign which can take hours of your time.

This is due to Bethesda not cutting corners on side missions and instead making them layered, which can sometimes have you make tough decisions that result in saving or eliminating characters. A similar situation arises when you find Juno.

So here’s the best choice that you should pick while playing Juno’s Gambit along with a breakdown of the other choices.

Best outcome & choice in Starfield Juno’s Gambit quest

Starfield Juno's Gambit quest
Juno’s Gambit involves reasoning with two Ryujin employees and an AI.

The best outcome is to let Juno survive in the Starfield Juno’s Gambit quest is to let Juno, alongside the two Ryujin employees, live to achieve the best outcome in Juno’s Gambit. The only way to ensure such a safe path is to join Ryujin Industries before encountering this quest.

Keep in mind that Juno’s Gambit is a quest that you encounter randomly in Starfield. So it is better to join the Ryujin as soon as possible if you haven’t yet gotten this route. This will enable you to reason with the employees if you wish to save the AI, instead of turning the scene into a gunfight.

As you have a chat with Juno, choose to set it free instead of destroying it with the device the employees give you to get this outcome. Then, have a chat with them and persuade them that you made the right call. If you are successful, you can save everyone in this mission and complete it without any unnecessary bloodshed.

You can alternatively choose to explore other outcomes in the quest.

Although letting Juno and the employees live is the best outcome if you hate unnecessary bloodshed in Starfield, you can definitely kill the AI or the people on board. You might want to drop a quick save and explore the various outcomes of this quest.

The two other outcomes of Juno’s Gambit in Starfield are:

  • Destroying Juno: You fry Juno’s circuits with the motherboard in this outcome, ignoring its pleas. You can leave the Ryujin employees on the ship instead of taking them with you. However, once you leave, Juno takes control of the ship as it expresses the human emotion of anger due to your betrayals, kills both the passengers, and flies away.
  • Killing the Ryujin employees: Unless you are a Ryujin employee yourself, you will have to kill the other two if you decide to save Juno in Starfield. Juno asks you some questions after this before it flies away.

At the end of the day, it is up to you as a player to choose your desired outcome. You’re free to enjoy the game as you want to. Either way, Juno is freed in the end, for better or worse. This was everything you had to know about the choice in Juno’s Gambit in Starfield.
