A Starfield player has done the unthinkable and spent around 180 hours trying to fully scan around 1,700 planets in the game.

Starfield has opened up a whole world of opportunities thanks to its massive game world which will engross you with its long list of missions. The planets are mostly procedurally-generated, with some hand-made areas here and there. There are many sidequests and a lengthy main plot, which will take up hours of your playtime. If you also went around scanning every planet in Starfield, it would take forever.

Now, one player has done it, and it took them 180 of his 200 hours of gameplay. Redditor ‘DoomZero’ shared on the Starfield subreddit how they’re a “true scientific explorer” as they’ve “fully surveyed every planet possible.”

They have scanned a total of 1,695 planets, of which just one isn’t fully scanned. This epic journey took them to 120 systems, and they landed on 1,441 planets.

They also fully scanned 807 types of fauna and 794 types of flora on these planets. Starfield players applauded his commitment, with one user admitting that they “nearly fell asleep doing just Alpha Centauri. That was enough to never want to do surveying again.”

Another user replied to this with an interesting but hilarious fact: “Did you know that you can scan fauna with bullets? No need to use the scanner, just blast away.”

Most players, however, did agree that scanning in Starfield is “hella monotonous and boring.” One user left a hilarious comment for the OP, saying, “now that you’ve taken the time to survey everything, it’s time to play the game.” The OP also included an image of where he keeps all of his data.

Starfield players are constantly doing or discovering something that astounds the community. One player found a bizarre portal that teleports objects, while another found a dung pile that needs to be lockpicked.
