Gathering and collecting all the valuables and exploring the various corners of space in Starfield might be a bit too much on your wallet. However, many players have already found a solution to it in the form of a glitch using console commands.

After several delays, Starfield is finally here in its early access, ready to be released worldwide on September 6, 2023. Bethesda have hailed their latest release as their most significant title yet. Well, this statement really stands its ground as the game has been revealed to be dozens of hours long.

Although there are a few immediate issues in the game for PC players such as performance lags and stutters, they can experience something that the console community cannot. Yes, it is the presence of mods and cheats. This has made several Starfield players resort to using console commands to gain an absurd advantage in the game.

What is the money glitch in Starfield?

If you are well versed with the previous Bethesda titles such as the Elder Scrolls and Fallout series, cheats or console commands will probably be nothing new to you. This means that Starfield is no different as it has the same parent company.

As mentioned earlier, players have already started exploiting the money glitch by using cheats to gain immense credits. Reddit user ‘Vamoman’ shared this method in the Starfield subreddit. The console command in question is ‘player.additem 0000000f #’, where ‘#’ denotes the number of credits you wish to have.

For example, if you type in ‘player.additem 0000000f 100000000’, you will receive 10 million credits in your in-game inventory. This is what the money-making glitch in the game actually is.

Possible drawbacks of using the money glitch

Using console commands is a pretty fun activity as it makes the grind of open-world RPGs much easier. However, it is never recommended to indulge in such activities too many times as it removes some of the challenge from the game.

There is also a chance that you will not receive any achievements as platforms such as Steam and Epic Games Store might disable achievements as a consequence. Additionally, console commands always carry the risk of permanent crashes and bugs that might hamper your Starfield gameplay experience and make it excruciating, instead of fun.

However, if you still want to use these commands, make sure to create an external save on your computer before using them. This is good for security in case something undesirable happens. As the game will soon be released officially worldwide on Xbox and PC, it is important for PC players to be aware of these facts beforehand.
