Starfield’s The Hammer Falls is a quest with many decisions but in the end, you will have to decide the fate of an entire planet by deciding on whether to spare or kill Ron Hope. Here’s what to do when you face this.

Starfield is filled with dozens of quests to complete and important decisions to make. After being hailed as one of the best RPGs of 2023, the game has already captivated many players with its immersive exploration and quest design.

The Freestar Collective questline is one of the best faction questlines in the entire game. In “The Hammer Falls” quest you will have to make a major decision that will influence the entire outcome of the Freestar Rangers and the Freestar Collective. It involves Ron Hope, the prime antagonist of this questline.

You should kill Ron Hope in Starfield’s The Hammer Falls quest. Killing him does not have any dire consequence and would bring justice to all the victims of his tyranny. Although killing in most of the quests in the game is looked down upon, the Freestar Rangers questline is one of the few where you can use your guns as much as you want.

Ron Hope is HopeTech’s CEO and is regarded as a hero who has singlehandedly saved HopeTown and planet Polvo from depravity. However, his methods of achieving success were later revealed to be extremely underhanded as many innocent people lost their lives due to his corrupt rule.

As you discover everything about him and confront him, he tries to put you under his wing and boasts of his authority as a part of the Freestar Council. He will even try to bribe you with 20,000 credits. Of course, you can choose these options and indirectly spare him if that sets well with your role-playing in Starfield.

However, if you want true justice for the people who lost their lives, you should kill Ron Hope. Attacking him will aggravate all of his guards who will start attacking you. So, it is better to take Ron Hope out before as he is just Level 1 fodder, and then pick out the guards one by one in Starfield.

Once you return to Akila City to report back to the Marshall about this incident, he will be a bit disappointed of course as he would have wanted a better outcome. But you will still be awarded a new position and be given the Rangers batch to six your position in the Freestar Rangers.

At the end of the day, it is up to you to decide what you find the best outcome is. Anything that suits your role-playing style should be your first priority.
