Starfield’s first update fixes stability & bugged quests

Starfield has just received its first-ever update, or rather a hotfix, as Bethesda announced a few important additions to the game. After a lot of feedback online, the developers have finally implemented significant changes in the latest updates.

Starfield has recently been the talk of the town as the gaming community is brimming with mixed opinions about the game. After a highly successful launch, many outlets and critics have put forward some serious issues regarding the game.

A week after Starfield’s launch, Bethesda finally released its first-ever patch fixing important issues of the game that were deemed to be drawbacks by many at launch. Plus, the patch coming just after Nvidia’s 537.34 driver update is just a treat for the fans.

Starfield’s latest patch notes, as mentioned on Bethesda’s official website are as follows:

Performance and Stability

  • Xbox Series X|S improved stability related to installations.
  • Various stability and performance improvements to reduce crashes and improve framerate.

Quests

  • All That Money Can Buy: Fixed an issue where player activity could result in a quest blocker.
  • Into the Unknown: Fixed an issue that could prevent the quest from appearing after the game is completed.
  • Shadows in Neon: Fixed an issue where player activity could result in a quest blocker.

Upcoming features in Starfield

Bethesda has also announced that Starfield will get other major fixes in future updates. These are:

  • Brightness and Contrast controls
  • HDR Calibration Menu
  • FOV Slider
  • Nvidia DLSS Support (PC)
  • 32:9 Ultrawide Monitor Support (PC)
  • Eat button for food

After thousands of comments all over the internet regarding the FOV Slider and DLSS issues, Bethesda will finally implement these changes in the game. This should definitely improve the game’s performance on various systems, as they have already put a framerate fix in this patch too.

The Brightness and Contrast control changes come next in terms of importance, as many players did not like the game’s color grading and brightness calibration. Plus, the 32:9 Monitor Support will also be added as a bonus in Starfield. But the upcoming mod support is easily one of the biggest takeaways from this piece of news.
