Starfield now has an unofficial Community Patch created by a team of modders that fixes some leftover bugs, errors, typos, and inconsistencies that Bethesda haven’t addressed.

Since its release, Starfield has enjoyed a devoted modding community, just like all previous Bethesda RPGs. They’ve been adding crazy mods that completely change the tone of the game, mods that fix issues with the gameplay, or those that add some quality-of-life changes and improvements.

Bethesda have always encouraged modding for their games, which has often led to some fans thinking that they rely too much on the modders. Now, just like with Skyrim and Fallout, Starfield has finally received its very own unofficial Community Patch. It aims to fix hundreds of reported issues, errors, and inconsistencies left in the game even after its latest official patch.

The team behind the ‘Starfield Community Patch’ calls it “a collective effort by mod authors and the wider player community of Starfield to fix bugs, errors and other inconsistencies present in the game. This includes tweaks, typos and other changes that may have been missed (or not yet released) by the developers.”

Starfield’s release has been relatively bug-free, especially when compared to some of Bethesda’s previous titles. There have been some hilarious bugs here and there, but they’ve managed to entertain players and not irritate them. The Starfield Community Patch’s “overall goal is to improve the vanilla experience for all players.” It doesn’t try to alter or replace any gameplay element put in place by Bethesda.

At the moment, the Community Patch is only available for the PC version of the game. However, judging by the description, the authors haven’t ruled out an Xbox Series X/S version yet. You can download and install the Starfield Community Patch from the official Nexus Mods page.

Make sure to follow the instructions given in the page, however, as there are certain requirements which can differ depending on the game version (Steam or Xbox Game Pass).

That wraps up everything to know about Starfield’s unofficial Community Patch. If you’re interested in the game, check out how players used mods to fix the “trash” UI. Or read about the hilarious bug that turned a player’s starship into a killer rogue AI.
