Warzone dev confirms fix for Stim glitch in works as bug returns for fifth time

The game-breaking stim glitch has returned to Warzone yet again… for the fifth time.

Another day, another Warzone glitch. Today, the stim glitch has resurfaced in Call of Duty: Warzone for yes, the fifth time. If you aren’t yet too familiar with this, the stim glitch seems to be the bane of the Warzone developers existence, seeming to always come back shortly after a patch is rolled out for the previous exploit.

Update February 3: Raven Software has now confirmed that a fix for the stim glitch is in the works and will be released soon.

Players repeatedly find more ways to exploit the system, which results in another stim glitch appearing. As of now, there are two stim “exploits”. The first, being the new one, is an exploit that includes glitching your grenades. The second one is a strategy that uses in-game mechanics to abuse restocks. You can read about that strategy here.

Forwarding to the current exploit, it has recently appeared on a Reddit post. In the video, a cheater appears to throw a grenade at a wall, pick it up, then activates night vision goggles, resulting in unlimited stims. You can watch the video below.

Most surprising about this glitch is the ability to activate night vision goggles, which is supposed to be only available in the campaign. On PC, you can equip them with the N key by default, but not in Warzone. Its unclear how the player manages to get the night vision to work.

Currently, its unclear if this glitch is exclusive to players who use cheats in Warzone. Its very possible the method is only known among a small community of players and will be more widely known in the coming days. Since the glitch requires night vision goggle usage, it could possibly be restricted to users on PC, since controller does not have a night vision bind.

Why cant the developers just remove Stims?

This is a common community question, and a valid one. If the stim glitch keeps resurfacing, then why wont the developers simply remove it? Problem solved right? Well… wrong.

The community has nicknamed this exploit the “stim glitch” since this is the most common tactical people abuse. In reality, the glitch actually gives players unlimited tactical grenades. This includes stuns, flashes and gas grenades. If Raven removes stims, people will move on to tactical grenades.

A possible fix is Raven instantly kills players who are in the gas too long, essentially blocking the stim heal entirely, which would be a huge help to the exploit and make it less appealing.

It’s going to be an interesting few days. Hopefully this glitch is patched before it catches on… again.
