Battlefield 2042 players have across a new bug that lets them completely negate the effects of enemy smoke grenades, making them completely useless in combat.

Battlefield 2042 has been facing quite a few problems since its arrival, from players complaining about the map design to Shroud explaining why weapon bloom is ruining the game.

Now, players have discovered a bug involving smoke grenades and one of the in-game menus, which lets players turn off the effects of that piece of gear, making it completely useless during fights.

Reddit user Jagsfootball51 highlighted this glitch in the Battlefield 2042 subreddit. “You can completely negate a smoke grenade just by opening the menu and going to [the] Collections [tab],” they stated.

The clip showcased the Redditor looking at some enemies who then threw down a smoke grenade before attempting to revive their teammates. However, the player was able to negate the smoke grenade.

They did this by opening the in-game menu and heading to the Collections tab before returning to the game. The enemy smoke grenades had completely disappeared from their screen after this.

Many of the commenters were surprised by this glitch and expressed their frustration with how this makes grenades completely useless. “This game is so broken,” one user wrote. “This needs an insta-fix.”

At the time of writing, it’s unclear whether or not the developers are aware of this issue. Hopefully, they’ll investigate the bug and implement a fix because this might be game-breaking.
