Street Fighter 6 has built upon its successful launch through various content releases, ranging from new characters to special collaborations. The game has received two Year 1 DLC characters so far, namely A.K.I and Rashid, and Capcom recently provided the release window for the third character, Ed.
Ed made his first appearance in Street Fighter IV before debuting as a playable character in SFV. The character features a unique moveset as his special attacks are triggered using modern inputs as opposed to traditional ones.

Who is Ed in Street Fighter 6?
Ed in Street Fighter 6 is the protege of the series’ antagonist Balrog. He made his first appearance during Rose’s Street Fighter IV ending as a non-playable character. The character was kidnapped by Shadaloo to use him as a spare body for M. Bison, but he was eventually found by Balrog who took him under his wing.
Ed is primarily a boxer but he also utilizes moves associated with MMA or Kickboxing. He can also wield Psycho Power which infuses Psycho energy into his attacks with his signature ability being the Psycho Grab.
When is Ed coming to Street Fighter 6?
Ed will join Street Fighter 6 in February 2024 as part of the Year 1 DLC. He was previously slated for a Winter 2024 release, but the devs narrowed down his release window through a character trailer.

You can check out the teaser trailer for Ed in Street Fighter 6 below. It features a short cinematic of Ed taking on a bunch of enemies in a moving train. The trailer offers a glimpse at his moveset that includes jabs, hooks, feints, a solid stance, and also his signature Psycho Grab ability near the end.
