GTA 5 has an unexpected update to address some issues present within the game. It is specifically targeting GTA Online, in particular, Cayo Perico content. We know the size of the update and the full patch notes.

Rockstar’s customary Thursday update has been interrupted with a surprise update today. The weekly patch usually switches around certain bonuses within the world of Grand Theft Auto’s popular Online mode.

Our traditional GTA leaker TezFunz2 was able to secure the details early, and thanks to him we know the full extent of the update.

There appears to be a big discrepancy between the update on console and PC. The 1.53 update clocks in on console at a hefty 7 GB, whereas its PC counterpart only requires 92 MB.

There is no word from Rockstar as to why this appears to be the case. If there does turn out to be any differences, then we’ll update you.

Several important fixes have been implemented to improve several aspects of the game. We know the main issue fixes that the new update has provided for players.

Rockstar’s page has documented the main ones, and Reddit has also pointed some out too.

  • Fixed a glitch for the Ocelot Pariah in which spoiler mods would not appear after they had been purchased
  • Improved performance for the Cayo Perico Heist
  • Hack minigame video resolution has been reduced from 1080p to 720p to reduce the frequency of game crashing, when hack minigame starts
  • The glasses of one of the DJs have been updated

Given that GTA 5 is set to return for one more round on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, it’s no surprise that Rockstar is remaining grounded in their approach to GTA.

With all the rumors swirling around about GTA 6 and people wanting to know when GTA 6 will release, it’s important that Rockstar keeps their Grand Theft Auto fanbase satisfied.
