Zombies may be taking over Warzone’s Verdansk map in the coming weeks, as teased in a video on Call of Duty’s Twitter.

It appears that the Zombie infestation at Verdansk’s new Shipwreck location could be spreading across the map, which would match earlier theories that the Zombie horde would periodically spread as Season 2 continues.

Before the launch of Season 2, we saw a teaser of the Zombies in Verdansk’s Hospital location, which showcased a model of the Trials machine from Black Ops Cold War Zombies.

Forwarding to Season 2, the ship Vodyanoy finally reached the shores of Verdansk, then becoming a Shipwreck location for players to land at. In this POI, players could find a fully functional Zombies Trial machine, which would prompt Zombies to spawn in the Shipwreck area as part of a small event that players could redeem for a reward with a Yellow Keycard.

Now over a week after the launch of Season 2, Call of Duty posted a video to their Twitter account, signifying that the Zombie horde is headed deeper into Verdansk.

In the video, we see footage from Verdansk’s own BCH-4 news station, reporting that the Zombies are now venturing out of the Shipwreck, perhaps into the Prison or Port area. A reporter, Mike Field is seen in the footage in a helicopter overlooking the Shipwreck, before being shot down. You can watch the full video below.

Hopefully in the coming days we see where the undead are headed. Perhaps they’ll hop between different areas of the map as time goes on, or maybe they’ll be multiple areas infested with the Zombies at once.

If rumors hold up, each new area should have a Zombies Trial computer, with a short quest to do for rewards. Players may be able to use the hordes as a distraction when in gunfights with other teams, so we’re sure to be in for some interesting strategies.

Stay tuned for more information, we’ll report as soon as more is available.
