Best Warzone Season 5 loadouts: Guns, classes, attachments & perks

Warzone Season 5 has an extremely balanced meta, but these are the top 10 weapon loadouts, with perks & attachments, you should run.

Call of Duty: Warzone best loadouts

Running the best loadouts in Warzone Season 5 can be the difference between victory and defeat, so we’ve put together the best weapons and attachments to give you the edge in both Verdansk and Rebirth Island.

Call of Duty: Warzone’s meta changes often, with every new season bringing new weapons and balance updates to existing ones. Warzone Season 5’s update didn’t make many changes to individual weapons, but the brand-new EM2 is set to shake up the meta.

Still, Season 5 continues to have great weapon balance with many viable guns. However, some stand slightly above the rest, so we’re counting down the weapons you should be using this season.

Here are the top 10 weapons and their attachments, as well as the perks, you can run in Warzone Season 5.

10. Grau 5.56 – Best ‘Fully Loaded’ loadout in Season 5

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Tempus 26.4″ Archangel
  • Underbarrel: Commando Foregrip
  • Ammunition: 60 Round Mags
  • Perk: Fully Loaded

Every Warzone player should have a ‘Fully Loaded’ class at the ready. After dropping in from the Gulag, you’ll be able to pick up a weapon with maximum ammo straight away so you’re instantly ready to go.

The Grau 5.56 doesn’t suffer from missing an attachment, making it the perfect choice for a Fully Loaded class. With the cleanest iron sights the game has to offer and minimal recoil, everyone should have a Fully Loaded Grau.

9. PKM – Best LMG in Warzone Season 5

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: 26.9″ Extended Barrel
  • Laser: Tac Laser
  • Optic: VLK 3.0x Optic
  • Underbarrel: Snatch Grip

If you want a weapon that can wipe a whole squad with ease, the PKM is the weapon for you. With minimal recoil and a huge magazine, you can’t go wrong with this LMG.

We’ve built it to maximize its range, while also adding some attachments to increase its speed, keeping it competitive with Warzone’s Assault Rifles. Its huge magazine size also means you’ll be able to take down a four-man team without reloading.

8. OTs 9

  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Barrel: 8.1″ Task Force
  • Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
  • Stock: KGB Skeletal Stock
  • Ammunition: Spetsnaz 40 Rnd

Because of the OTs 9’s tough unlock challenge, not many players have got to experience its power. But if you’re looking for a fast-firing SMG with a rapid time to kill (TTK), the OTs 9 is well worth the grind.

However, its low magazine size means we recommend only using it in Solos and Duos, which prevents it from being the best SMG the game has to offer.

7. QBZ-83

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 15.5″ Task Force
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Ammunition: STANAG 60 Rnd Drum

We called the QBZ-83 the most underrated weapon in Warzone Season 4, and this remains true in Season 5. In fact, a small nerf to the Krig 6 has only made the QBZ-83 better, so it’s well worth using in Season 5.

For a medium-range weapon, the QBZ-83 is perfect – especially in the confines of Rebirth Island. Fans of the FARA 83 in its prime will especially enjoy this rare, but powerful, Cold War Assault Rifle.

6. Swiss K31 – Best Sniper Rifle loadout in Season 5

  • Muzzle: GRU Suppressor
  • Barrel: 24.9″ Combat Recon
  • Laser: SWAT 5mW Laser Sight
  • Stock: Raider Stock
  • Rear Grip: Serpent Wrap

Raven Software has been working hard to bring Cold War’s Sniper Rifles in line with Modern Warfare’s, which has allowed the Swiss K31 to rise to the top. It’s just as powerful as any of the best Sniper or Marksman Rifles, offering great bullet velocity and a quick bolt speed.

The only thing that really separates the Swiss K31 and the Kar98k is player preference, but we feel the Kar just edges it out.

5. MAC-10 – Best SMG loadout in Season 5

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 5.9″ Task Force
  • Laser: Tiger Team Spotlight
  • Stock: Raider Stock
  • Ammunition: STANAG 53 Rnd Drum

The MAC-10 has long been a powerful SMG in Warzone, and it climbed back to the top of the pack ahead of Season 5.

This is the perfect SMG for an aggressive player, as with the right attachments it becomes extremely quick with an impressive TTK. We’ve built this MAC-10 to maximize its speed, while also having decent range for more versatility.

4. C58

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 18.5″ Task Force
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Ammunition: STANAG 55 Rnd

The C58 is utterly dominant in the hands of a skilled player, only just missing out on the top spots because of its low fire rate and higher recoil.

However, its damage profile more than makes up for its low rate of fire. Once you’ve locked onto an enemy with the C58, there’s very little they can do to survive.

We’ve built this C58 to maximize its accuracy and power, meaning with a little bit of practice, you’ll have no issue beaming enemies over long distances.

3. Kar98k – Best Marksman Rifle loadout in Season 5

  • Muzzle: Monolithic Suppressor
  • Barrel: Singuard Custom 27.6″
  • Laser: Tac Laser
  • Optic: Sniper Scope
  • Stock: FTAC Sport Comb

The Kar98k has been a popular choice throughout the entirety of Warzone’s life because it can be used in any situation. Whether going for insane long-shots or quickscoping up-close, you can’t go wrong with this Marksman Rifle.

It has a near-instant aim down sight time, great range, and very little idle sway. No matter if you’re going for high kill games or tactical wins, the Kar98k is the perfect weapon.

2. EM2

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 27.4″ Ranger
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Ammunition: 40 Rnd

The EM2 arrived as part of the Warzone Season 5 update, offering players a brand-new Assault Rifle to use in the expanse of Verdansk.

We’ve built this EM2 to combine power and range with speed, so you’re never caught out by a slow ADS time. It acts very similarly to the C58, offering the same max bullet velocity but a much faster TTK. It has slightly more recoil than the C58, but with this loadout, you won’t have much trouble after you get some practice.

There’s very little reason not to use the EM2 in Warzone Season 5. Not only is it extremely powerful, but it’s also a nice change from Season 4’s meta. We highly recommend running the EM2 as your primary weapon in Season 5.

1. Krig 6 – Best Assault Rifle loadout in Season 5

  • Muzzle: Agency Suppressor
  • Barrel: 15″ CMV Mil-Spec
  • Optic: Axial Arms 3x
  • Underbarrel: Field Agent Grip
  • Ammunition: STANAG 60 Rnd

Although it received a small nerf in the Season 4 Reloaded update, the Krig 6 has kept almost all of its power going into Season 5.

With high damage and low recoil, this loadout makes the Krig is extremely easy to use. The Axial Arms 3x scope takes away any challenge you’ll have in hitting far-off targets and the STANAG 60 Rnd magazine is enough rounds to take out a whole team. Then the Agency Suppressor offers a boost to almost every aspect of the weapon and keeps you off the minimap.

For a powerful yet easy to control Assault Rifle, there’s still no better option than the Krig 6 in Season 5.

Best Perks for CoD: Warzone Season 5

  • Perk 1: E.O.D. / Cold Blooded
  • Perk 2: Overkil / Ghost / Restock
  • Perk 3: Amped / Combat Scout

Surviving explosives is a necessity, so E.O.D is usually the best for Perk 1. However, Cold Blooded has become more effective in Season 5 because it counters the new Combat Scout Perk.

To optimize your perks and weapons, we’re going to recommend the two-loadout strategy for any game. On the first loadout, your Perk 2 should be Overkill to grab your two preferred weapons, e.g the EM2 and OTs 9.

On the second loadout, you can either pick up a loadout with Ghost to hide from UAVs and Heartbeat Sensors or Tempered to make your armor plates more effective and last longer.

And for Perk 3, Amped will allow you to rapidly switch weapons, which stops you from feeling sluggish. But, Combat Scout is now another powerful choice, as it gives you temporary wallhacks and automatically pings enemies for your team.

Warzone Season 5 continues with the most balanced meta we’ve seen in a long time. While these are our top 10 weapons, there are plenty of other viable options you can have fun while using in Verdansk ’84.

Warzone devs confirm fix for H4 Blixen’s frustrating sprint-to-fire glitch

Raven Software confirmed that a fix for the annoying H4 Blixen sprint-to-fire glitch is on the way following the Season 3 Reloaded update.

Warzone players will soon be able to utilize the H4 Blixen at full power, as the devs confirmed that a fix for the frustrating sprint-to-fire glitch is on the way.

With all of the new features like the Underground Transit System and squad HUD, players have been eager to test out Warzone following the Pacific Season 3 Reloaded update. In addition to new features, players also received a new weapon in the H4 Blixen to unlock.

SMGs have often been some of the most popular weapons in the game and the H4 Blixen could possibly follow this trend. Unfortunately, a frustrating sprint-to-fire glitch is not allowing players to utilize the weapon’s full potential.

Sprint-to-fire time is a defining factor of an elite SMG. The aggressive close-range playstyle of an SMG relies on how quickly you can draw your weapon after moving in Warzone. Unfortunately, a strange Warzone glitch is causing a delay to occur after certain actions when using the H4 Blixen.

Thanks to Warzone expert JGOD, we know that the glitch causing a delay occurs after reloading, using Lethal Equipment, and possibly plating as well. All three of the causes are key actions in Warzone and could very well result in you losing an important gunfight.

Thankfully, the devs are well aware of this glitch and are already working on a fix. The Warzone Trello board has a card titled, “Players will notice an input delay when trying to fire the H4 Blixen.” The card was added to the list of known issues on May 26, so we could receive a quick fix.

It’s common for small updates to follow the game’s seasonal updates as the devs look to fix any issues that arise following big changes. Soon enough Warzone players will be able to utilize the H4 Blixen to its full extent.

Raven respond to game-breaking Warzone glitch turning AX-50 hitscan

Warzone’s turned the AX-50 into a hitscan Sniper, and this caught the attention of the developers who have now responded to this change.

Although the Warzone Season 3 Reloaded update nerfed some of the most popular Sniper Rifles, it had accidentally turned the AX-50 completely hitscan, catching the attention of the devs.

Warzone’s IW8 engine uses projectile-based weapons, meaning that a bullet is a physical object affected by travel time and bullet drop. Weapons with top bullet velocity are often described as hitscan because it feels like the bullet lands instantly.

However, there are no truly hitscan weapons in the game — at least, there aren’t meant to be. Following all of the major weapon buffs and nerfs in Warzone’s Season 3 Reloaded update, the AX-50 became a truly hitscan weapon, but the developers have already responded to this change.

‘Hitscan’ means that a bullet isn’t a physical object and will hit as soon as the trigger is pulled, regardless of distance or whether the target is moving. Modern Warfare’s SP-R was accidentally hitscan when it was first released back in September 2020, and the AX-50 now has the same issue.

The website, which datamines weapon stats, discovered that the AX-50 became truly hitscan with the Season 3 Reloaded update. The AX-50 usually suffers from low bullet velocity and a bullet drop but we can see how its bullets are registering immediately, where they simply need to click on the target for the bullet to hit.

YouTuber JGOD, known for his expertise in weapon stats and game mechanics, tested out the AX-50 and confirmed that it is hitscan and you don’t even need to use bullet velocity attachments. It seems to be exactly the same issue as the SP-R, where the AX-50’s bullet simply disappears at around 400 meters.

Sniper Rifles are balanced by their bullet travel time and drop, where a player not only needs to aim but needs to predict where the bullet will land. Not anymore though, as players just need to click on the enemy for the bullet to land.

This change could make the AX-50 into the most popular Sniper Rifle in the game, as it completely counteracts what makes the weapon class balanced. 400 meters is a more than generous window for Caldera and Rebirth Island in terms of bullets disappearing.

However, we don’t expect this change to remain in the game much longer, as it has caught the attention of Raven Software. The Warzone devs have marked it under “investigating” on their Trello board and aim to fix the weapon’s “unintended behavior while firing.”

Warzone players beg Raven to nerf STG44 – the game’s most popular weapon

Warzone players are calling for nerfs to the STG44 as the Season 3 Reloaded update brought no changes to the most popular AR.

Despite an abundance of weapon buffs and nerfs in the Warzone Season 3 Reloaded update, players are calling for the devs to nerf one of the game’s strongest and most popular ARs.

Warzone Pacific Season 3 Reloaded has brought a ton of changes to the game, including a new Perk, LTM, and various weapon changes in the patch notes.

The STG44 has been dominating in Warzone Pacific Season 3, and while some believe the new Reloaded update has made way for new weapons to shine, others feel that the STG44 meta needs to be changed, wanting the Assault Rifle to receive a nerf.

Reddit user aur0n highlighted how dominant the STG44 is in Warzone Pacific Season 3 Reloaded with a graph of the game’s most popular weapons according to their pick rates.

The title of the post makes light of the fact that the AMAX received a nerf in the new update despite not being a popular weapon, while the STG44, which is currently dominating the pick rates, was left untouched.

Some in the comments of the post can’t believe that the AMAX was nerfed so hard while the STG44 was left unchanged. As you can see from the chart, the STG44 is Warzone’s most popular weapon by a long shot, dominating the pickrates.

Since the Season 3 update, the STG44 has been considered the best AR option in the game, with various streamers providing details on the best attachments to use.

The sheer strength and dominance of the STG44 is forcing players to call for the devs to nerf the weapon, with one user commenting “nerf the stg…have you guys been playing Warzone lately EVERYONE IS USING THE STG.”

Usually, this is exactly what happens when a weapon begins to dominate over all the others, so perhaps we’ll see a nerf soon.

We’ll have to wait and see what Raven does with the STG44 in the future. This isn’t the only change players have been wanting, as some have called for the Shotguns to be removed.
