The Finals glitch turns players into Jedi & they want it as a feature

The Finals players are running into a glitch that temporarily lets them use “the Force,” but many want to see it added as a feature rather than patched.

The Finals has enjoyed a successful start since being stealth launched during The Game Awards, smashing the player count of rival shooters like Modern Warfare 3 on Steam. This means that thousands, if not millions of players have hopped in to create their Contestants and experiment with different builds.

But just like most new online titles, there have been a handful of issues since The Finals arrived, from server problems to crashing and black screens.

There have also been a few bugs affecting matches, and players have discovered another makes their gun disappear. However, fans want the devs to add it as a permanent feature rather than patching it.

Reddit user ‘kobito-‘ posted saying they had “found a bug I actually don’t want fixed,” along with a video of the glitch in action. In it, the Heavy player’s weapon completely vanished after getting a kill, causing them to fire bullets from their hand instead.

While the visual issue clearly disrupted the gameplay, many The Finals players responded by praising how “sick” the glitch actually looked.

“I would actually use this instead of the iron sight on the LMG for certain gunfights,” said one reply, before another added: “That actually looks kinda cool. Telekinetic bullet barrage.”

Some even compared the clip to a Jedi from Star Wars, “using the Force” to take down enemies rather than a regular gun. One player even asked: “Darth Vader skin for heavy when?”

While the invisible weapon was no doubt a glitch, several replies called for the devs to add it as feature in a future update.

“I want this to turn into something like a skin or an animation from the devs. Would be a nice nod to the first days and the very few first bugs of the game,” argued one fan, with another saying: “They need to make this into an Easter egg for the throwing knives.”

The Finals is still early on its lifecycle, so don’t be surprised to see this glitch fixed in an upcoming update. However, we’ll have to wait and see if the devs add “the Force” in some way to pay tribute to the bug later down the line.
