It’s time to flex on newbies that have never experienced Raid before. BOCW has brought back a perfect Call of Duty map, but if you are someone that has never had the privilege of enjoying Raid, here are our top tips to embrace your potential.
What’s the one thing that we’d change about Raid to make it a masterpiece of a map? It’s a trick question because you physically can’t make this map any better – hence why Treyarch has brought it back.
This extravagant Hollywood home is weirdly the perfect environment for a proper shootout. From the multi-million dollar estate to the exotic pool to the pristine sports car. The brilliance is equally distributed around the map in a variety of ways, and we’ll try and break it down for you.
Best tips to dominate Raid in BOCW
1. Avoid the water
It’s definitely one of the most unique and interactable elements of this or any map. But you’re pretty helpless in the water, if you’re seen in it then you’re just a helpless fish waiting to be caught.
But even if you’re not, people are savvy enough to know to keep an eye out for a secret water ninja. You also don’t really benefit from the water either as it takes you the furthest away from the action and Raid isn’t a proper sneaky type of map.
2. Basketball court
Don’t go into the hut immediately next to it as that’s an obvious hotspot for disaster and enemy players will immediately lock onto it to sniff you out.
You should instead use the cover of the walls that enter/exit the court as you’ll have a perfect view of the water, the upper bedroom that people like to utilize, and anyone moving underneath the house.
3. Use all the cover you can for the statue channel
This channel is not only a cool channel, it’s one of the great lanes as it just has so much going on for it. You’ve got the upper windows, the paths underneath/to the side of them, the statue, all the decorative architectural stones around it, the cars, the vans, and even a path connecting to the middle of the map.
It shows you don’t always need a big map to be full, but to ensure you don’t fall victim to the fullness, you have to constantly utilize the cover to advance. You can conceivably walk straight past each other without ever knowing there were two of you there. The cover is strategically placed for a reason, use it.
4. The Upper Bedroom Window
As we mentioned earlier, if you’re playing a game of Search & Destroy or something similar then getting to this room is paramount.
Being behind a pane window and up against the room’s back wall, visibility is rather limited. So when enemies are appearing by the basketball court, or sneaking into the hut, or somewhere else at the other end of the map, take advantage of your inadvertent cloak.
5. The middle
Another middle portion that can really determine how well you do. Crossing through the very middle through the section containing the tree is incredibly risky as you’ll be properly visible from four different directions – but if you go prone in here during S&D then it might be different.
But if you can make it over to the other side, sit in the corner briefly, or patrol up and down in that corner, and earn some easy kills from enemies rushing through the middle or sides.
If you’re still reading this and haven’t hopped back into Raid yet then we encourage you to go and do so. It’s an incredible map that encapsulates everything right and true about an online game of Call of Duty.

Crazy Black Ops Cold War glitch turns Raid into Rainbow Road
One confused BOCW player encountered a very bright bug that turned a section of Raid into a great copy of Mario Kart’s Rainbow Road.
One CoD player could have easily been mistaken into thinking he was playing Mario Kart instead of Black Ops Cold War. A bizarre texture glitch effectively turned Raid into the legendary Rainbow Road track.
Have you ever been so bored that you stopped to wonder what a Call of Duty and Mario crossover would look like? Well, now you don’t have to as a colorful glitch has made this somewhat of reality on BOCW’s Raid map.
The footage was captured and shared on the official Black Ops Cold War subreddit, allowing a wider audience to see something that needs to be believed.
The trippy video starts off pretty innocuously, but eagle-eyed viewers will already notice that something is amiss with the map’s trees in the first couple of seconds of the match starting.
After darting off with a Sniper Rifle in his hand, the Reddit user quickly turned to his left to scope out the kitchen, when his eyes were met by a dazzling array of colors and shapes. “Do you guys see this?” he asked, hoping that one of his teammates could see the bizarre scene that was taking place on his screen. “Do I have a texture glitch right now? I’m in like a disco right now!”
Of course, with Black Ops Cold War taking place during the 1980s, a disco feels like a logical next step, although when the lights are hitting you during a tense match, it’s probably not ideal.
The notoriously difficult Rainbow Road course would be proud of this as the colors glow and bounce off of everything, including the Sniper Rifle itself.
We can only imagine how distracting this was for the player, and we would love to know if the issue persisted throughout the whole match.
It also makes us wonder if we need full-on Rainbow matches in Call of Duty, and if CoD should somehow do a weird crossover with Mario Kart.

NICKMERCS shows powerful DMR Warzone Season 1 loadout
Streamer NICKMERCS gave us a close look at his preferred loadout for the DMR in Call of Duty: Warzone in his latest video.
Call of Duty content creator Nick ‘NICKMERCS’ Kolcheff showed off his loadout for the DMR in Warzone, which gives the gun a major buff, while making up for the recent nerf that it received.
The DMR has received various nerfs throughout its history in Call of Duty: Warzone, but it remains one of the fastest killing guns in the game. While it’s not as powerful as it used to be, it’s still a great weapon choice in Season 1.
It comes with an impressive firing, high damage, and almost precise accuracy. NICKMERCS is well aware of the DMR’s capabilities in combat, and he posted a YouTube video in which he recommended a specific loadout for the weapon.
NICKMERCS’ DMR Warzone loadout
Nick’s new DMR loadout is quite different post-nerf It’s designed to compensate for the weapon’s recent changes, and to give some major boosts to the damage that it can dish out in combat.
He makes use of the following attachments:
- Muzzle: Infantry Compensator
- Barrel: 16.3” Titanium
- Optic: Axial Arms 3x
- Underbarrel: Field Agent Foregrip
- Ammunition: 30 Rnd Speed Mag
The Infantry Compensator and 16.3” Titanium barrel, are the newest additions to his loadout. The former minimizes the DMR’s vertical recoil so that you don’t have to worry about aiming problems when firing continuously.
Meanwhile, the 16.3” Titanium barrel and Field Agent Foregrip will further improve the gun’s already impressive rate of fire. This will complement the improved recoil control so that you’re able to fire a lot longer.
The Axial Arms 3x is one of the most useful Black Ops Cold War sights in the game, so you’ll be able to use this optic to engage your foes in different types of combat. This will make the DMR ideal for long, medium, and short-range battles.

He capped off the loadout with the 30-round Speed Mag, which will reduce the DMR’s reload time while providing you with enough ammo to continuously dish out pain to your opponents.
NICKMERCS was able to score 20 kills in a single game with this loadout equipped, so it’s definitely worth trying out. It’s clear why the DMR is still one of the most widely picked weapons in Warzone, even after the nerfs it received.
