Top 5 Weapons In Black Ops Cold War
Here’s the top 5 weapons you should be using now in Black Ops Cold War.
Several weapon balances have come to Black Ops Cold War in just the first 10 days, seeing shifts in the game’s meta. Recently, weapons like the FFAR, M16, and AUG have experienced a fall from grace due to the most recent weapon balance patch.
With these major changes to several weapons, we’ve listed out the top 5 meta weapons in the game currently after the most recent update.
Krig 6
The Krig 6 hasn’t seen any change since the launch of Black Ops Cold War, and with good reason. It’s a highly consistent Assault Rifle with great handling, a modest aim down sight speed, and time to kill.
It’s ideal when used for medium-range engagements and is best used with attachments that increase sprint out time and strafe speeds. This is a great flex weapon for objective modes.
AK-47
If you’re looking for a high-risk, high-reward weapon, the AK-47 is your best bet. The recoil and flinch is a bit higher than other weapons, but its superior damage at all ranges makes up for it.
There’s plenty of variety in attachments to either make the gun better at longer range – with more stability by adding a larger barrel – or more of a run and gun weapon with a smaller barrel and attachments focused on speed.
MP5
This weapon has seen the most changes in Cold War, being the best weapon by far at launch. The MP5’s range was extreme for a submachine gun, only to get nerfed in a small update a few days after launch.
The MP5 now has less range. However, its damage is unchanged. It has slightly more recoil yet offers great damage at short ranges, completely vaporizing enemies that get in your path.
AK-74u
The clear immediate purpose of the AK-74u is that it’s supposed to pick up where the MP5 drops off.
The AK-74u is a bit slower than other SMG’s, yet offers superior control and range in comparison to other weapons in its category. Use this weapon for more calculated pushes on larger maps.
XM4
The XM4 has a bit of everything for Assault Rifle users. It has modest strafe speed, a solid aim down sight speed, decent control, and great range.
The gun has just a bit of everything, while not having too much or too little of a certain stat. In general, it’s great for use on all maps and supports more of a passive-aggressive playstyle.
Currently, these 5 weapons should be great when leveling up and trying to score large killstreaks in Black Ops Cold War. In high-skill matches, these are used widely, and some are used in competitive games.
Now get on the field and start making some loadouts!
