Black Ops Cold War Zombies and its Dark Aether storyline was one of the best received in years and players were desperate to see more maps added after Forsaken. However, Treyarch have confirmed that Cold War won’t receive any more Zombies maps.

Although Black Ops Cold War’s seasons have ended and the focus has shifted to Vanguard, Cold War recently received the WMD map and the Vargo 52 Assault Rifle. Many still prefer Cold War Zombies, so players were hoping to see more maps and content added over the course of 2022.

It appears this won’t be the case after Treyarch confirmed that Black Ops Cold War Zombies won’t receive any more maps as they continue to focus on Vanguard Zombies.

In a blog post on April 14, Treyarch confirmed that they won’t be releasing any more Zombies maps for Black Ops Cold War. However, they did confirm that a round-bases Zombies map is in development for Vanguard.

In the blog post, they explained that there will still be new content coming to Cold War Zombies, but there won’t be a new map, “On the Zombies front, while we don’t have plans to bring additional maps to Black Ops Cold War for all the reasons we laid out at the start of this blog, we’re delivering several updates to Outbreak and Onslaught starting with Season Three.”

The devs will continue to support the Cold War version of Zombies by offering LTMs for players to enjoy in modes like Outbreak and Onslaught. In addition, they also hinted at a new secret for Zombies players to uncover in the mode, “We’ll also be adding a new secret for Zombies players to discover, particularly for those who’ve conquered every Main Quest that Black Ops Cold War has to offer…”

If you’re a fan of Black Ops Cold War Zombies and haven’t completed every Main Quest, now seems like a great time to do so.

While players will not receive a new Cold War Zombies map, there will still be plenty of content arriving shortly as Treyarch continue to support the mode in other ways.
